September 6, 200916 yr Hi all, I wonder if someone might be able to help? Ages ago, I came across a little tweak to help with those 'floating lights' in FSX. I have tried to search for this tweak using a few 'key' words etc, but no luck.I hope someone may have used this tweak, and can point me in the right direction? Thanks, Steven

January 5, 201115 yr I don't know what the "issue" is? Runway and taxiway lights are hard-coded to appear at a level above the element being drawn. There is a tweak available to change the spacing from the default. The other option would be to look at Airport Wizard by FlightSimTools, where you can have lights and objects placed to replace the default floating light emitter; http://www.flightsimtools.com/apwizard/
January 6, 201115 yr Is the tweak your talking about adding something to the cfg or something different? I found something by NIck, but it really did not help much. I would like to find a way to solve this its so annoying.

I would like to find a way to solve this its so annoying. The "tweak" I was referring to changes the BGL file that holds the airport data. It does not change the default method of showing an emitting light suspended above the ground, only the spacing on lights, which IIRC is 200' apart. If it bothers someone to such an extent, then Airport Wizard (AW) would be a good solution, where the default lighting is replaced by a scenery object and light from said object. Then you can use AW to modify any or all 24,000 airports to reflect the changes. AW had a demo available to try before purchase and is relatively easy to setup. It will also handle adding apron lighting to an airport, if so desired.
