September 7, 200916 yr Hi all :( I'd really like to download the Douglas A-26 Invader from SOH (a26_soh.zip - A-26 Invader for FS2004/FS9 - Manual Installation) but I always get this error message: B) Not FoundThe requested URL /soh_ftp/fs2k4/a26_soh.zip was not found on this server.Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.I read their Downloading FAQ and did everything described there but nothing helped. I also tried using different web browsers without more success. Oh and yes I'm registered and logged-in.I don't think the problem is an overloaded server (as it's written in the above FAQ) because I've been trying now for a while (different days and hours). One thing is strange though: I have no problems downloading recent files. But I can't download any (older) file from the 'Top 15'. So it's not a problem only affecting a26_soh.zip.It would be great if someone could help and / or tell me an alternative download location for SOH's Invader. :( Many thanks! :(
September 7, 200916 yr Have you tried posting the "broken link" problem on their forum?http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/forumdisplay.php?f=5As I understand it Sim Outhouse was hacked several months ago and it has been a struggle to get everything up and running again.I doubt you will find that package anywhere else as it was an "in house" effort.Good luck.
September 7, 200916 yr Also some time before Sim Outhouse were hacked I think they had a server breakdown (It went 'RIP' as I remember) and had to move everything onto new machine(s). In the process a lot of the files were unavailable, as far as I know they're working to correct this and are moving the files. I don't know if they managed to fix all this completely - I still get some files unavailable when I try to download from them, but they're slowly coming back on-line. As an example some of Tim 'Piglet' Conrad's work was unavailable after their server died but later it all started coming back on-line slowly. Naturally as the new files were uploaded after the server problems they'd be available with no difficulties, its some of the older files that are not.Sorting out all those files must be a titanic task for them and I can't help but feel total sympathy, especially as its somewhat similar to our situation. Its a pity the SOH A-26 Invader is unavailable - I like this plane, they did a very good job on it - a nice detailed freeware simulation. I was really happy when they first released it, and I still still fly it from time to time.It might be worth asking them directly what's happened with this file as the problem does not appear to be on your end. Don't give up hope it will probably be available latter on, it is pretty popular and they did make it themselves (the developers are all members of SOH) - so I think they will try everything to bring it back if something's happened to the download.
September 7, 200916 yr Hi Opa and Momtchil :(Many thanks for your posts. I wasn't aware of another hack at SOH.I just posted a message there. Let's see what they say.Oh yeah their Invader looks great. They don't want it to be distributed elsewhere (what I absolutetly understand) so I won't be able to get it elsewhere. :( Thanks again for anwering that fast.GreetsJ.R.
