September 9, 200916 yr In the MD-11, it had a section for refueling and doors programed in the FMC for convenience but does the J41 have this? I am trying to sell some stuff so I can buy the J41 and I just wanted to know if the J41 had some awesome in genius features like the MD11 had.Taylor Oldham
September 9, 200916 yr Taylor,Nothing special for refueling, but there is a new tool called the Ramp Manager that you use to open doors, place safety cones, the baggage cart, chocks, and pitot covers, as well as position the ground power unit for use. September 9, 200916 yr The J41 does not contain a menu in the FMS like the MD-11 to control things such as doors, refueling, pushback, etc. The ramp manager is what you use to control the doors, GPU, cones, chocks, and plugs/covers. In order to refuel you have to use the Fuel under the Aircraft tab in the MS FSX top menu. The J-41 only has 2 tanks though. One in the right wing, and one in the left. So it is not a big weight and balance issue like on the MD-11 to fill the tanks. So by no means is not having that a detractor from the product because it is very easy to add fuel to the aircraft through the FSX menu. Hopefully this helped. I knew about the "ramp manager" but wasn't sure that included fuel. Well, hopefully, I can get this bird within the week. When you are a high school student with no job, its hard to have extra money laying around... :(
September 9, 200916 yr I know how that goes. I started my flight simulation journey when I was in high school as well. The first add-on I ever got was 747 Queen of the Skies. Which if I am not mistaken is a PMDG bird? Have to look at the manual when I get home, but if memory serves me correctly that was for FS2000. Hard to believe I have been doing this that long. I am just glad that as time has gone on the quality of aircraft has increased dramatically. Highly recommend the J41 though. Certaintly is a challenging aircraft to fly well, but very rewarding. It is no problem to answer questions though. I wish that the community was the way it is now when I got started (maybe I just didn't know anything about it back then?).
