Converting a Tileproxy Cache to a .BGL File?

Featured Replies

Hi.I suspect there are no such tool today, But I find it could be quite useful.Im in the process of mapping of the entire southern part of Sweden where the lowest Zoomlevel will be 15. In some areas I go for level 16 and pherhaps even 17.Anyhow, Instead if having several thousands of small files in my cache I would like to convert them to .BGL files instead and push them into the sceenery library in FSX. It would be great if they could still work together with Tileproxy so if you fly outside this area it will continue to load as usual.I know very little of programming so I wont be able to finish such a project, but I can imagine there are fooks out there that know this better. Is this possible, would it be hard? Anyone who feel up to the task?H

I understand what you are looking for. When you have several bgl files with textures/coordinates included FSX will be less stressed. You could take a look at Fs Earth TilesHowever it is a lot of work. I did use the program to make some airport background / city photo scenery.

If I recall correctly, there is a free program called map2bgl or maps2bgl. Try a Google search for it.IAN

Yeah, Iknow of these tools, but as the cache is of several thousands of .JPG files I dont know how it would be feasable to do this manualy. It has to be some kind of software that uses the Tileproxy cache and converts it to a BGL file. If it uses another third party software is quite okay.. :)Christian could pherhaps look into this :) Hint wink hint....
