Default Bldg Textures Missing

Featured Replies

Hello.I'm hoping someone might be able to help me with an issue I have discovered. It seems I am missing some default bldg textures around KJFK. I discovered the problem after installing the v6 scenery from FRF. However, the issue is there even if that scenery is removed as well. I'm not sure what the files are for these bldgs but I'm hoping someone might know so that I have a place to start looking. I have attached an example picture.I don't believe this has anything to do with the FRF scenery. I don't fly into JFK much so I'm sure the problem was an existing one and I just never noticed it before.Hopefully someone can give me a clue as to what specific files these bldgs use so that I can track this issue down. Thanks very much!

First thing I would do is to check for the presence of 16 texture files which start with JFK - in your scenery/name2/texture folder.example: JFK_Cargo1a.bmpIf you do bnot find them, they can be easily restore from the install disks.

I have files called "JFK_Cargo2.bmp" and "JFK_Cargo2_LM.bmp" located in \Scenery\Name\texture and files called "JFK_Cargo1a.bmp" and "JFK_Cargo1a_LM.bmp" located in my Rwy12 Static Objects Texture folder.I moved the "JFK_Cargo1a.bmp" and "JFK_Cargo1a_LM.bmp" files from the Rwy12 Texture folder to the main FS9 texture folder and they appeared. So now I guess guess the question is are these two files not part of the Rwy12 stuff (or maybe EZ Scenery stuff) and if not how the **** did they get in there? I looked at the "FS9 FILE LOCATIONS.xls" file I got from somewhere to see if these files were mentioned and they are not which makes me think they are not FS9 default files. :( :(

I have no idea how they got into the RWY12 folders - unless you installed a package from someone who put it together incorrectly and some of the FS2004 default files got included and in the wrong locations. :( FYI - You apparenty did not look at page 3 of the xls file locations (there are 4 "pages" in that xls file - look at the bottom and you will see 4 tabs). The JFK files are on Disc 3 in MSGAME8.cabHope that helps. :(

I knew there were 4 sheets but when I did my search I forgot to change the setting from sheet to workbook. :( I thought that document also said where the end location was for the files as well but I guess not. Is the location I mentioned the correct one? I ask because it differs from the one you provided.

I guess they will work elsewhere but mine are in:C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Scenery\Name\textureIf you copy the MSGAME8.cab and Paste it into a temporary folder on your desktop and then extract all files to that location using your zip program, it should result in a series of folders with the various files in them. One of those folders should be Scenery with a Name subfolder etc. That would show you where the files in question should be placed.Hope that makes sense.

It makes sense. That's where mine are now. But, when you posted initially you put scenery/name2/texture. I guess the "2" was a typo.
