Wrong heading being displayed

Featured Replies

Hi all,For a while I've been getting a strange problem where the wrong heading is being displayed on my aircraft. E.g. I'll be lined up on runway 18, but my aircraft might be showing a heading of 240. I've tried a variety of aircraft, default and add on, and the problem prevails. The problem also exists in different geographic areas and i don't think it started when i added any scenery. Really confused so any help would be appreciated. My system specs are below. Many thanks,KevIntel E86004gb RAMNvidia 9800GTVista 64bitfs9.1Active Sky Advanced (problem still happens when not using ASA)

I have seen that a couple times, and every time it was scenery-related. I haven't been able to pin down a specific cause, other than to remove a bgl file that "fixes" it. I suspect there is some sort of subtle bug in fs9 that causes this. I have a suspicion that it's related to the scenery database that fs9 creates, but don't know a good way to really test or prove this theory. I use a little program by Herve Sors called AFSD which uses fsuipc to query various aircraft parameters, including the magvar the aircraft is seeing. It helps to know what the magvar should be at your location.scott s..

Thanks Scott. Once i have run the program you recommend, what should the next step be? Do you know if there is a way of deleting the scenery database and have fs9 re-compile it, hopefully correctly? Thanks,Kev
