September 12, 200916 yr GreetzI apologize for my dumb questions, but I am unable to get the FMC to power up. I've got power via Avionics and have been following the tutorial step by step. Page 39 has you pressing the ON button, afterwhich the power up self-test is supposed to run. When I do this, the FMC remains dark. Am I missing something? Also, the Pilot's Tutorial makes reference to "page 38 of the Normal Procedures." Where might I find the Normal Procedures in the manuals provided?Sorry about my ignorance, and thank you for your help to my dumb questionscb

Do you know where to find the Normal Procedures in the manuals? I feel like I am missing what everyone else is finding. Is there instructions to add the RXP Weather panel in the manuals? I cannot find that, too. Geesh...cb
September 12, 200916 yr Good question....... I havent printed the manual yet. 543 pages, my printer would get up, jump out the window and run away if I asked it to print 543 pages! Someone else is going to have to chime in on that one :( "To most the sky is the limit but to me it's home" Rick Harms (CYVR) i7 [email protected] (for now) asus p6t v2, 6gb ocz 1600 CL7 ram. September 12, 200916 yr Chip,There's nothing to do to add the RXP WX500. Assuming you haven't already purchased and installed the radar, simply do so. The initialization file is already present in your PMDG_J4100 folder. The radar will be ready to go when you next enter the JS41's cockpit. But the RXP Weather still is not present in the panel. Would you be able to post the panel cfg with the RXP enabled? My RXP installer tells me the panel is already configured, but the panel remains as it was (a "dead" weather gauge).cb
September 12, 200916 yr Chip,Move your mouse over the radar screen. See those green dots? Those control your radar. If you have tool tips on, you'll be able to see what they do. (The lower left one controls the modes.)No, it's not perfect, in the sense that the 3D knobs on the panel don't make the radar run through its paces, but it's far better than nothing. September 14, 200916 yr Hey Chip,The Normal Procedures are section 4 of the Aircraft Operation Manual (AOM). This section explains in detail how the aircraft should be operated.
September 14, 200916 yr printing 500 odd pages,is a difficult task no doubt, lot of guys are having initial trouble with this aircraft,it took me a week to complete my first flight but was fabulous, worth all the money i spent reading these chapters is also proving to be difficult taking the size of the manual, it takes a long time just to find the right chapter, this may be one of the reasons why a lot of us find it easy to post a question here and find answersvivek http://www%28delete_this%29.precisionmanua...m/supporter.jpg
September 14, 200916 yr Yeah, 500 pages is asking a bit much. Here's what I did:I ran FSX in a window, taking up the right 2/3rds of my screen. The left portion has the AOM open to the Normal Ops section (fortunately the writing's pretty big). Then I just worked my way through a flight from aircraft acceptance to securing after shutdown. For each phase I'd pause the sim, read through the phase in the normal ops, then execute the flows as per the ops. Then I'd refer to the checklist I'd printed to ensure it was all done properly.Running through a flight a few times like that means I have now memorised the flows, and can fly using the checklist only to ensure critical items have been covered!
