I always do it for some odd habit.FMGC programming BEFORE or AFTER startup - your right here, I actually turn the APU on and do the programming, however I was trying to keep all of the over head and startup work centralized in one point. But, yes, your right!APPR mode QNH, temp and all that jazz: I can't find one FS functionality or interdependency.ZFW/LoadEdit: Ohhh, I learn something every day :) I didn't know that loadedit put that into the kneeboard! I always have mine set to 122,000 just for memory's sake :)Stalling problem: I have checked with PSS support forum and it baffles the guys. It happens on a few computers, not that many, but some. This is my personal fix for the problem.ILS/GS intercept: I am really talking about intercepting at sharp angles. June 17, 200322 yr Okay I figured out the MCDU for the NAV freq's, but then when I enter the route, and add the SID, things are good, when on approach it's has something like the flight ends, then there is a turn about 120 degrees, fly ahead for 5 miled or so, then the route starts again, and thats like a final approach heading.Another quick question, what modes do you use for your whole descent? For me, I use the manual mode, I enter the altitude, and enter the V/S, and speed, all manually by pulling the knob, which is okay for me, but how can I get the MDCU to control the whole descent? Like the altitudes, speeds, and V/S?Also, when is a good time to initiate the approach phase? 20 or so miles out?So again, thanks for any feedback. Your replies have gotten me this far, a point that I though would have taken some time, and took me one day. So thanks a ton :)Cory
June 17, 200322 yr I am saying this is the situation:Your flying from KATL to KTPA and upon landing you want to go from KTPA to KHOU. June 17, 200322 yr Author Cory,I usually take SELECTED control of the aircraft and follow (some :))fs2k2 atc instructions some time before the aircraft automatically initiates approach phase at the magenta circled 'D' at the end of flightplan. Others may do it differently but at my home airports virtually all approaches are visual.The 'bus will not override the altitude displayed in the fcu (you will have noticed that altitude is never dashed -----) - it will not automatically climb above/descend below fcu displayed altitude - in order to have the fmgc descend for you you must first adjust to a new altitude and PUSH the alt nob. the fmgc will then MANAGE the aircraft down/up to your new flight level, automatically adjusting pitch/power and level off at your new alt. Remember that the fmgc did not automatically climb to the flight level you set using the mcdu - you had to also dial it in on the fcu and push the alt nob - descent is the same principle.Regards,Mark Regards, Mark

June 20, 200322 yr Yeah, I have explained the speed deal twice. It is a glitch on SOME systems and the PSS guys really don't have it pinned down yet. When sitting on the runway ready to roll I hit my "+" twice and get the signal on the panel that I am now FLEX 42. The engines are spooling and the Speed display goes to "----". If I don't reset the speed display to something like 240 or 250 kts, it is automatically set on 145. June 20, 200322 yr I don't really understand what the "glitch" is. The SPD window should in fact get "dashed" when takeoff power is applied, and the commanded speed becomes V2 + 10 (or + 15, don't remember). If your speed is always set to 145, regardless of weight, it sounds like something is wrong.I don't understand why that makes you stall though.
