PMDG J41 - Ability to preview the Map on EFIS Display?

Featured Replies

Hi there,I'm wondering if it is possible to preview the flightplan step by step on the EFIS display (with the currently selected waypoint centered)? So I can check the route from start to landing BEFORE approaching the destination airport.Greetings,Chris

Ok, maybe my English is not so good :-)I think it was possible with the NG737 product for FS9 to enter the flightplan into the FMC and check it afterwards step by step on the "EFIS moving map".I could not find such a feature on the J41. So there is the problem that if you are flying a long distance flight (>50nm for example) you cannot see the approach waypoints of the destination airport on the EFIS display, even if you zoom out. So there is no chance to check if there some needless waypoints or other flaws in the current route. It would be nice if such a possiblility would exist, so you can check the whole flightplan before the start.Greetings,Chris

What you are asking is:Is there a plan mode that allows you to preview the route entered step by step, to see if there are any problems or incorrect segments?I was looking for this recently as well, as I believe there is an issue with the departure procedures at some airports...I have noticed that the first waypoint after the runway, often TK plus a heading figure, is actually in the wrong direction from the required course...I end up manually flying the departure and activating the route following at a later point...Andrew

I have not found a way to preview the route in the EHSI. Stepping through the plan in the FMS does not change the EHSI display, but I expect this is realistic.Mitchell
