JS41 - Procedure to get Cold & Dark

Featured Replies

OK, I've read some postings questioning if there's a COD option for the JS41. No, there isn't, however...I got a COD the following way:Load the training/tutorialn flight from PMDG. After the flight has loaded, change to a different airport. That way I got a really COD, even with the flags in the artificial horizon.Give it a try and report back if it's working for you too.

l do the same, but its not really a cold and dark situation. But l guess we will have to wait till they fix this.RegardsPaul

Hi,I really don't see it as a problem I just initially loaded a flight, shut everything down and saved the flight,Now when I want to fly the J41(most occasions) I simply load that flight and change airport if required. The flight I load most is empty(payload) and just adjust fuel.I can also load this flight directly through my docs/fsx files. In the words of a meerkat "Simples!"Dan.

A lot of users, myself included, have trouble getting the J41 (or nearly any other high-end add-on aircraft for that matter) to load and work correctly unless starting from a very basic default flight. What works for me is that I created a C172 flight, loaded and turned everything off, then saved it as the default flight. Since doing that I reliably get a cold & dark start when loading a J41 (or MD-11 or F1 Citation Mustang) flight. YMMV...

While some of those options are fine and may work, the proper way to make a true cold and dark situation is to create one yourself. First load either the default Cessna 172 or the trike at the airport you want. Once the flight is loaded, load the plane you want and go through the proper shut down procedure. Finally save the flight and the plane will be in the exact same state you left it at the airport and gate of your choice. If you want the GPU connected, bring up the ramp manager and connect the GPU and turn on the NAV lights to show there is power to the plane. Every switch you leave on or off will remain once you save the situation to your liking.Chad
