  1. I know this has been discussed in the forums already, but I just want to let Rob and team know that I have installed the latest hotfix for the NGX and the breaks not disconnecting issue on landing hasn't been resolved. A forum member said it fixed the issue for them. I have read the manual and I am breaking after autobreaks have been disabled. I break several times and full breaks and it still doesn't disconnect. It appears that this issue is only happening to some as I have seen youtube videos where this doesn't happen. While I'm sure you guys are busy, I and a number of others need to get this issue figured out and resolved. After I land I am unable to taxi to the gate unless after the full stop I set the parking break on the runway and then release the parking break, but then after that I am unable to break the whole taxi to the gate. I am certainly not upset in any way and I know that little bugs like this will happen after a product releases. I know it will get fixed in time, but please put this issue high up on the list if possible. Many thanks for your dedication to the comunity and your great products.
  2. So first off, I just want to say that I finally had the chance to do a full flight with the NGX and she is glorious. I seem to be having a few small issues that may or may not have been addressed yet. First off, the bird seems to overfly each waypt and needs to roll the opposite direction to line up with the path correctly. Second, I am seeing a quick pitch movement when I select VOR LOC or APP mode while on approach. It happens very fast and the plane corrects itself for the sudden pitch (always pitches up) after these two modes are selected. Finally, upon landing the plane breaks to a complete stop. I switch off auto brakes and manually break a few times per the tutorial, but the breaks are always on and I can't seem to release the breaks unless I set the parking break and then release the parking break, however doing so causes the breaks to no longer function at all. As you can imagine, this is very uncomfortable for my virtual passengers ;). In any case, I know the small things like this will be sorted out and solved eventually, I just wanted to make sure they were known. Regards, Chad
  3. Grzegorz,Thanks for the info. I didn't get the too many activations message. I think this is only the 3rd install of the plane if I remember correctly. It simply just wasn't accepting my code and the activation box within FSX kept coming up asking me to re-enter the code. Nonetheless, an uninstall and reinstall of the product solved the problem. I will not need to contact PMDG any further. I am running IE, so I guess that was my issue with the support page. I guess I will need to re-download firefox or something else should I need to contact PMDG in the future though. Thanks again for the help.Regards,Chad
  4. Like many people, I've decided to make some upgrades to my PC with the NGX being close to release. I have moved from Windows XP to Windows 7 64 bit. Because of this move, I have to format my HD and reinstall everything from scratch. I went to install the JS4100 (which the install itself went fine) but when I open FSX to load the plane and input the activation code, it rejects it. The activation box keeps coming up even though I checked and re-checked the code I have in the PMDG email. So I went on the PMDG support page to file a ticket with their new system, but that is apparently down and I get the "page cannot be displayed" message. At this time, I am unsure what to do, so I figured posting here would help. I guess my next step will be an uninstall of the product followed by a reinstall. Just to be clear, I disabled UAC, Anti-virus, and am using admin rights to install the product. If anyone from PMDG can help that would be great, I do have all of my purchase info available. Many thanks.Chad
  5. Simply amazing work here guys. I knew that the wait for another update would be worth it and you guys exceeded my expectations. The detail is absolutely fantastic...far beyond what I thought would be done. I would love to own a real 737, but with the detail you'll be giving us with this bird, I think this is truely the next best thing. If it's found on the real plane, it's found in the PMDG product. So I'll happily take the PMDG 737 over a real 737 and wifey will be very happy that the fuel and maint costs will remain low :( Chad
  6. After reading several pages of this thread, I've decided to finally make a post. To the devs, I can only speak for myself when I say take your time with the NGX. I know nobody wants to get this bird into our hands more than you guys and I'm sure like all of us, the team is disappointed that hasn't happened yet...heck probably more so than those waiting to get it in our virtual hangar. To everyone who may read this, developing anything isn't an easy task, let alone the depth of what PMDG does for FS. I know everyone is very eager to get this plane, but the fact is things happen the slow the process and cause delays. There is not one software company around that sets a date for a release several months in advance and sticks to it...if they did, we'd be buying garbage software that is unfinished and unpolished. The good guys over at PMDG are NOT keeping screen shots/videos for themselves to look at and not share with us. Like Ryan said, when an item is finished, they will post it in an update. Since we haven't seen any exterior shots, it would be a good guess that the exterior isn't done. What would be the point of looking at a screenshot of an unfinished exterior? It's obvious that the plane is taking longer than they had hoped, but it's unrealistic of any of us to hold the team to any "hoped for" release time frames they have discussed until they set a very firm date once the plane is ready to be rolled out and is completely finished. Now, back to the team. I would like to make a suggestion just to make life easier for those of you who visit the boards often. I think making a new pinned thread would help. It would seem that a lot of people who are posting new threads aren't taking the time to read this thread where much information can be found. After all, it is 66 pages long and there are new screens and information posted on many pages that people aren't finding when they visit the boards. So, to eliminiate more mess that you guys have to clean up, make a simple thread (no prictures) with some of the things discussed throughout this thread. Some people are dense and can't understand that since the plane isn't available for purchase that there is a delay. For some reason, some people need to actually read it coming from PMDG. A simple thread that would say something like "We are moving as fast as we can to get this plane out to you and are pushing to get it into the beta stage. We honestly don't know when it will be released because we still have some items to work on before it gets to beta. As for images, as of right now, we don't have anything new to show as the exterior isn't finished. Everything we have already posted is as much as we can show at the moment. As we finish parts of the plane, we will post a new update with screens or video". I know it shouldn't be needed, but perhaps it will make life easier for you.Regards,Chad
  7. Starting the APU before alignment is just fine. There are many airports that don't have ground power available and you don't want to drain your battery. When no ground power is available, APU's are usually started before programming the FMC CDU. Just make sure parking breaks are on and you'll be just fine.Chad
  8. Here we go, another 787 thread. This has been brought up a number of times already, and here is my thoughts. I don't think we have to worry about suggesting any aircraft to PMDG. They will have their hands full for a long time. They still need to release the 737 NGX and then the Dash 8 and 777. Robert also mentioned they are working on something else in addition to what I just mentioned, but didn't what and won't say anything until they're ready. Realistically, the next thing they could do after what they already have planned could be a 787 because it will probably be a few years until they finish what is currently planned. I know there was mention of them doing an Airbus at one point, but I don't know if that is still planned and if it is, where in the timeline it fits. Lets just let them focus on what they have going on now. It is possible for them to surprise us with a 787 because they have a good relationship with Boeing and could probably get the information they need to develop it for FS. For all we know, they could have it in the works already and it could be a sales strategy that a PMDG version will come out when airlines have taken delivery of the real bird.I wouldn't doubt that from happening, but at the same time, I wouldn't count on it either.Chad
  9. Wow! This is simply amazing. RSR and team thanks so much for taking the time to provide us this awesome update. I loved the old vs the new pics idea. This update is the best in the series thus far hands down. I really appreciate how hard you guys are working on this bird. The 737 is one of my favorite aircraft and I'm very glad it will be done in FSX correctly and dare I say the most complete sim for FSX systems wise. Now, I'm sure many of us are thinking it and I know PMDG policy, but I have to ask. October is coming to an end very soon which leaves only 2 months remaining in 2010. Initially this product was to be released mid 2010 which has clearly past. I am not the impatient type, and just by seeing what you guys are doing with this sim, it should be clear to everyone why it has been delayed. By all means, take your time as we know it will be well worth the wait. I still have to ask out of curiosity though...is there any chance of this bird being released before 2011? Also, do you guys have any idea as to when more info will be posted on the upcoming Dash 8 product? Many thanks for your time gentleman.Regards,Chad
  10. okay, didn't realize that. Thank youChad
  11. Can anyone tell me where to get the Vista 32 version of the uiautomationcore.dll? Also, is there anything else I should do to ensure FSX runs smoothly on Win 7 64? Thanks!Chad
  12. I'd really like to see the Saab 340 in FSX along with a good King Air and a Dash 8 Q400. Already a good ATR out there and there will be a good Dash soon hopefully (Thanks PMDG) and of course there is a great JS41 too. I think the Dash and Saab and Beech 1900 are the most flied turbo props in the US so to have two of them for FSX would be great. Honestly the Dash 8 Q300 is my favorite though, so I am really looking forward to the release from PMDG because I know they will make it right and I really can't wait for it. While I will buy and love the NGS, I think the Dash will be my fav FSX add-on when it's released.Chad
  13. Okay, so I just upgraded from XP Pro (32 bit) to Win 7 Ultimate (64 bit) and I have seen better frames once I made the switch. Everything seems to be running just fine for me. I have not used the uiautomationcore.dll fix yet because I haven't had any issues. However, I would like to do it to be on the safe side. I never had Vista 32 bit as I moved directly from XP 32 bit to Win 7 64 bit, so how can I get this .dll to copy it into the FSX folder?Chad
  14. I'm going to back up even more just to be sure I didn't screw anything up with my Windows 7 install. Again, I was coming from Windows XP Pro (32 bit). I had bought an OEM Seagate 750 gig 7200RPM SATA hard drive. I had two 80 gig SATA hard drives before. One for C: and one for D:. The one stopped working, so I was down to one hard drive. I took out the one 80 gig HD (after formating it) and installed the 750 gig HD. I booted my PC with the new 750 gig drive in for the first time and went into the BIOS to set the boot priority to the DVD drive. I saved and exited after I put in the Windows 7 Ulitmate (64 bit) disc into the DVD drive. The PC booted from the disc and I installed Win 7 using the custom method which I understand will format the drive/s that are installed before setup starts with the Win 7 install. Was this the proper way to install Win 7?Chad
  15. Yeah, I picked up a 80 gig SATA 7200RPM Seagate drive. I installed it in my system and booted windows. It saw the drive right away and then I formated it. I uninstalled FSX and installed it onto my second D: drive. I told the setup to put an icon on the desktop and it didn't. I then went into the FSX folder and tried to copy the FSX icon to the desktop and it didn't allow me to. I also still got the message that the color scheme has been changed to Windows 7 Basic everytime I started FSX. I'm thinking something isn't installed right. I donno if it's windows 7, the seperate hard drive or an issue with FSX and win7 64 bit. Any ideas?Chad
  16. okay, I will pick up an 80 gig HD tomorrow and will make it my D: drive. All I should have to do is install it and format it right? Thanks again for the info guys.Chad
  17. Thanks so much for extreamly helpful answer. I just bet you're the one everyone looks up to on these boards... Thanks for your reply Vic.As of right now, I only have one drive with is a 750GB. I'm a bit of a Win7 newb, so please forgive me if this question seems basic. Where in Windows 7 can I creae a partition and do I have to format the drive and reinstall windows all over again to acheive this? Thanks again for your help.Chad
  18. Hello all and thanks for looking at this post to help me. I've been running Windows XP Pro (32 bit) for years now and finally made the choice to upgrade my OS to Windows 7 Ultimate (64 bit) due to many people on forums saying it was the best OS for FSX. I also wanted to take advantage of Direct X 10 and more memory without having to do the USERVA trick to get XP to see more than the 2 gig I had installed. Now before I explain the situation, I think it would be best to give you some details about my rig/setup. I am running the Intel Core2Duo E6850 (3.0 GHz) on an ASUS mobo and have 4 gig DDR2 ram along with an Nvidia GeForce 8800 GT Superclocked (512MB onboard) and Windows 7 Ultimate (64 bit). I have FSX+Acceleration installed.Okay, I guess I should also tell you how I installed the software as well. I installed FSX (Deluxe Edition) into C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\FSX and after the install, I ran the default flight and then rebooted the machine. Then I installed Acceleration, ran the default flight and rebooted the machine. Then I installed FSUIPC 4 (registered) and ran the default flight but didn't reboot. Finally I installed the Level D 767 and ran the default flight, changed airports and finally changed aircraft to the Level D. I have many other complex add-on aircraft such as PMDG, FSLabs Concorde X, Maddog, F1 Mustang etc, but I haven't installed those yet. I also want to install Ultimate Traffic II, F1 Ground Enviornment X, and REX.Okay, so thanks for sticking with me and now we finally come to my problem. Since installing FSX + what I mentioned above, I've been getting errors that range from blue screens that says Windows encountered an error and must shut down to FSX crashing due to a video card issue. Also, when I start FSX, I get a message that the color scheme has been changed to Windows 7 Basic due to FSX. I have read that most don't have any issues with FSX on Win7. Did I do something wrong or was there something I needed to do that I didn't? Does anyone have any ideas of what I can do to solve my issues and have FSX running smoothly? Thanks again for all your help and I look forward to everyones suggestions.Regards,Chad
  19. That looks fantastic. It was difficult at first glance to figure out which was the PMDG image, but at a second glance, I could tell it was the lower one. Very impressive modeling and while it's hard for me to say this, I think the 737 NGX VC will look better than the JS4100. The JS4100 has the most realistic looking VC to date. I know everyone is excited about the NGX, but I'm also eager to find out more about the Dash8. Do you have a timeframe to start releasing details/pictures of the Dash?Regards,Chad
  20. Dan, I've been flying for a few years now. My love for flying actually started with Flight Sim. Anyway, I do have a few suggestions for you as well. Research the flight schools in your area. Check out their fleet and talk with some of the instructors to find out their experience level. Also, I would also make sure to take the Private Pilot ground school class as it will really bring everything together. If you don't take a class, your instructor will probably do a ground lesson before the flight, but the class itself is so much more thorough and will prepare you much better for your written exam/oral exam/checkride. See if the school carries insurance and also check about maintenance of the fleet. There are benefits flying out of both towered and non-towered airports. Non-towered allows you to just go when your ready and when the traffic pattern allows which will save you money. Towered you need to get clearences from ATC which at times can be costly due to waiting, but the good side of towered airports is having to communicate with ATC all the time which will make you more confident on the mic and you probably won't have mic fright. Now when you are actually flying, some of the manuvers such as stalls/slips might scare you. I remember that one day during my training it was pretty windy and I was doing steep turns. The wind guested while I was rolled at 45° and pushed the planed so hard that we had no lift and began to fall a little before I was able to get the plane back under control again. I got a little shaken up and that's bound to happen to anyone during training. Just don't let it get to you and know that you control the plane and the plane doesn't control you. You might even enter a spin when performing a power off/on stall because you turned the yoke just a little and it was enought to dip the wing. I did that the first few times, but we would quickly recover. I love being up there so much and hope to make a career out of it in a few years. Good luck with the endevor.Chad

    PMDG 777

It's really anyones guess. I doubt even PMDG knows when it will be released. All we know is the 737 NGX and the Dash8 will come before the 777. I'm just guessing the NGX will be released in November. We haven't seem much of anything on the Dash8, so I would bet that will come in the new year 1st or 2nd quarter and then the 777 will probably fall late 2011. While I'm excited about the 777, I'm much more excited about the Dash8. Again, I'm just guessing at timelines and have no real knowledge of what PMDG's plans are. The only thing most of us know for fact is the order of which the products will be released and that came from PMDG themselves. So again, it's 737NGX, Dash8, 777.

  23. Ahhh, but we are still missing a current boeing even after the 777 is released and that is the 717. Then we'd have the full line (Of course from a few diff sources) but it would be full and current (*717, 737, 747, 757, 767, and 777) When the 787 is out for a while, then I think PMDG will be the guys to do it. Perhaps that will come after the 777 is wrapped up or maybe even later, but I'd really like to see the 717 before they tackle the 787.
  24. We're almost in the middle of May already and renderings have just started to come by thanks to Vin. I doubt we will see the 737 in June, but that's just a guess. I'm thinking more like August. PMDG always gets things right before they release a new plane and I'm sure the NG2.0 will be no different. I do think that when they really start showing us full views of the internals and externals within FSX that will be a clue that it's close/in beta. Once we know it's in beta, it will probably be about a whole month of testing before it's released. Again, this is just a guess based on past developments. I too am very excited about this. I was going to buy Araine and then heard bad stuff about it. Plus I don't like the fact that it doesn't really come with any liveries and it's about $90-$100. I'm sure PMDG will be much better, have many liveries (AirTran please :)) and cost less than Araine. For now I'll fly the Wilco 737 and patiently wait until PMDG rolls out this beauty.Chad
  25. Nah, I say get the whole current Boeing line finished and make the 717. By the time that is done, they should be able to do the 787 as it would probably be used by airlines by then and PMDG shouldn't have much problem getting the info they need to make it.Chad
