December 17, 201015 yr Hi everyone. I just came up with a great suggestion for PMDG's next project(by this I mean the next thing they could work on once they realease any current projects in-development). A 787-8! Wouldnt that be the best? What do you guys think?
December 17, 201015 yr Doesn't really interest me. We've got a surplus of long range FS aircraft at the moment(Level D's and Captain Sim's 767/757s as well as PMDG's 747, not to mention the upcoming 777), but a lack of short-range aircraft. What I'd like to see after the 737 would be a nice rendition of a regional jet.
December 17, 201015 yr No... The first 787 hasn't even been shipped off to a customer yet, let alone any viable pictures being available. Also, in order to do a VC/2D, PMDG staff need access to the aircraft to take a sh*t load of pictures. Also, there are no systems manuals out of the 787. There is simply too much that has yet to be released about the 787 for PMDG to make a product anywhere close to how it might turn out to be in the real world. The only reason they did the 747-800 is because the cockpits are virtually identical. The only thing different is the model. All that had to be done was change both a bit.
December 17, 201015 yr I too would like to see a short to mid range aircraft. I agree that we have a lot of longer range aircraft, but a shortage of this type of AC. A CRJ-200 - 900 would be welcome, as would a PMDG style MD-81/82/83. The Leonardo Maddog is pretty good with systems, but the graphics are cr*p. The new Justflight MD-80 has better graphics than Leonardo, but it's systems are not complete. Both of these would be welcome! Ethan Rayhorn My Office: (Taken at FL410)
December 17, 201015 yr Here we go, another 787 thread. This has been brought up a number of times already, and here is my thoughts. I don't think we have to worry about suggesting any aircraft to PMDG. They will have their hands full for a long time. They still need to release the 737 NGX and then the Dash 8 and 777. Robert also mentioned they are working on something else in addition to what I just mentioned, but didn't what and won't say anything until they're ready. Realistically, the next thing they could do after what they already have planned could be a 787 because it will probably be a few years until they finish what is currently planned. I know there was mention of them doing an Airbus at one point, but I don't know if that is still planned and if it is, where in the timeline it fits. Lets just let them focus on what they have going on now. It is possible for them to surprise us with a 787 because they have a good relationship with Boeing and could probably get the information they need to develop it for FS. For all we know, they could have it in the works already and it could be a sales strategy that a PMDG version will come out when airlines have taken delivery of the real bird.I wouldn't doubt that from happening, but at the same time, I wouldn't count on it either.Chad
December 17, 201015 yr I certainly don't think we are pushing or rushing PMDG. My post was a lighthearted suggestion. If it doesn't happen I'll be perfectly fine with what they've already got going. I don't expect it to happen, but sometimes it is nice to just throw an idea out for fun and see where it goes. I think that is what the OP was doing too. Ethan Rayhorn My Office: (Taken at FL410)

Who knows if FSX can even handle it because it seems so advanced.
December 17, 201015 yr Also, there are no systems manuals out of the 787. That's not correct. I'm looking at a copy of the 787 FCTM, QRH and performance charts right now :wink:The 777 and 787 share a huge amount of systems (and actually large portions of the FCTM as well) so it might not be that bad an idea for PMDG to knock one out after the 777. That being said, I'd probably rather see something like a 737 classic or an RJ of some description. Especially since Qualitywings will be releasing what is sure to be a good 787, which should be somewhat more system rich than the 757. i7 2600k @ 5.1Ghz, ASUS Sabertooth P67, 8GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600Mhz, EVGA GTX 580 @ 950MHz, OCZ Vertex II 240GB, ASUS Xonar DG, Thermaltake Toughpower XT 875W PSU, Antec KÜHLER 620 W/C, Corsair 600T SE White My FS9 Screens - http://fs9screens.blogspot.com/ Callum Richardson
December 17, 201015 yr I just came up with a great suggestion for PMDG's next projectCongratulation on originality :( . You could probably fill a small discotheque with all those who came through these forums proclaiming the "great suggestion" of 787 in the last couple of years or so... Michael J.

Both of these would be welcome!Sorry for posting about, but you are right about the graphics...(i know that i must not talk about othere developers...)BTW, LSH Maddog is used during the first step of the real crew type rating at Meridiana/AirBee (the last is now dead...very sad)This is a little secret found out speaking with some captains and copilots of Alitalia and MeridianaFly, that both use(d) in big numbers the MD80 in their fleet.Cheers Paolo Fumagalli "Everyday is a new flight, with new system to learn, new failures to prevent and new database to update..."
December 17, 201015 yr Airbus a380 maybe? That would be great! Dreaming...NLS are making an A380 so that's a no. I would love an A330 though. I can't wait to find out what the secret project is. Dylan Leonard
December 17, 201015 yr Moderator ..... as would a PMDG style MD-81/82/83. Man I would go nuts if PMDG would make a MD-81/82/83. I have always wanted one of those for FSX but have passed on the Leonardo Maddog as well as the CoolSky version. The CLS version graphically looks like what I want, but the system are "lite" as they call it. Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
