    2. Yes
    3. https://sourceforge.net/projects/fs-sceditor/
    4. It's from the Aeosoft F-16 you installed. It's part of a scenery that comes with the plane.
    5. I personally split mine up with airports at the top of my cfg and the rest in the order I mentioned. However when you run the FTX Central, it's libel to rearrange it again, so keep a back up of the one you want.
  2. cmpbellsjc's post in Texture_Max_Load with PMDG 777 was marked as the answer
Texture Max Load settings of 1024, 2048 or 4096 only apply to scenery, clouds, and water textures but has no impact on the textures used in the user aircraft.

So for example, say you set the TML to 1024 but the T7 or NGX has 4096 sized textures for the exterior or interior, the aircrafts 4096 textures will still be displayed at those resolutions while the other scenery outside the aircraft will be capped at 1024.

This was found and confirmed by Ryan (tabs) with PMDG.
  3. cmpbellsjc's post in Looking for Best Airport Hotels for Aircraft Spotting in SE USA was marked as the answer
If you fly to KDFW there is a Hyatt Regency right in the middle of the airport. The hotel windows face east and west, so if you stay on the west side and are staying half way up or higher you'll have a view of 18L, 18R, 36L and 36R. Or if you east side you'll have a view of 35L, 35C, 35R, 17R, 17C, and 17L. Plus DFW has founders plaza on the northwest side of the airport that is a viewing area and it has speakers all over the place tuned into ATC so you can listen. Plus it's near the UPS ramp if you want to watch that.
  4. cmpbellsjc's post in How do AI Traffic Schedules Work? was marked as the answer
Sounds like you never converted the WOAI traffic files to FSX format, a common thing that is overlooked when people install FS9 traffic files into FSX without converting them.

Also the answer is no to your second question. The date of the schedule or season doesn't make any difference to P3D.
  5. cmpbellsjc's post in Missing Jetways was marked as the answer
For default airports the jetways are tied to the Scenery Complexity slider. So, the farther left you move the slider the less jetways you'll see. Some addon airports also tie the jetways to this slider as well, but not all.

If you want to overcome that issue for default airports, you can edit the default AFCAD for an airport to display the jetways at even the lowest setting of the Scenery Complexity slider.

If your slider is far right and you're still missing jetways then it's another issue like AES that you mentioned or something else.
  6. cmpbellsjc's post in Learning Correct Procedures etc... was marked as the answer
The way I read this is that you're new to aviation and simming and you started off learning the 737? Is this correct?

If so, you can start off like real world pilots and do your initial flying I single engine planes like a Cessna or Piper and learn the fundamentals of flying, navigating, emergencies, ATC, etc. Then when you have successfully mastered that you can graduate into larger aircraft.

Their are tons of online subjects on basic airman ship or you might even be able to buy some private pilot flight training books on amazon that you can read to start you from square one.

If you have aleady done that type of stuff which is unclear from your original post, then the links above in the other prior post can help.

However, if your goal is to fly in real life, you need to start at the beginning rather than starting off in 737's. Simming is a wonderful way to learn prior to starting the real thing, but if you go about it the wrong way without proper instruction, you can develop a lot of bad habits that will end up costing you more time and money in real life trying to break habits and behaviors you developed from simming.
  7. cmpbellsjc's post in Nose gear wheel not lining up with parking line was marked as the answer
The reason for this is nothing to do with the T7, so it's not a fault of PMDG.

I'll try to explain this as simply as possible.

When using GSX it reads from the underlying AFCAD for the parking spot that your entering. What typically happens is that the parking lines on the AFCAD (which are invisible in aftermarket sceneries) don't line up with the parking lines that are drawn in the parking spot of the scenery, it will end up sometimes that your parked to the side of the lines.

When the developer designs the parking spots graphically by drawing the physical lines on the tarmac then uses a program like ADEX to actually program where the parking spots are, if the developer doesn't line up the AFCAD lines with the physically drawn lines, then this is the result.

If your so inclined you can fix it yourself by downloading ADEX from ScruffyDuck (it's free), then using the default trike, launch FSX and go to the parking spot you want to fix. Then minimize FSX and start ADEX. Once ADEX is open, using the menu, open the airport by BGL and select the AFCAD for the scenery where you are. Then on the top right of ADEX you'll see an option to both Connect To FSX and Lock to Position. Select both options. Then you will need to un-minimize FSX by go into windowed mode and have both FSX and ADEX windows both open in view.

Next you will Slew to the parking spot you want to line up. You'll see the cross hairs of the trike moving in ADEX as you Slew around. Once to the parking space line up the cross hairs of the trike to match the lines of the parking spot in FSX. Then you can use the mouse cursor to physically align the parking space in ADEX to line up with the cross hairs in FSX.

Once your dine with all your parking spaces you will used ADEX recompile the AFCAD and save it to your desktop with the same name as the original AFCAD.

Then quit ADEX and FSX and go into the scenery folder of the airport you just worked with and find the original AFCAD. Make a backup of that AFCAD and then move the new AFCAD you made to that location and overwrite it with the new one.

You can then start FSX and trying taxing to the parking space and see if the plane lines up better with the parking line.

It's a lot of work, especially if you have this issue with a lot of airports, but now you know how to fix it. Some developers are better than others at minimizing this, but it varies from developer to developer.

As a full disclosure, I am on the GSX beta team and that is how I learned about this issue and how to fix it.

  8. cmpbellsjc's post in AES in FSX:SE was marked as the answer
You might want to check their official forum at Aerosoft, but a quick search there revealed that AES is not currently compatible with the SE version at this time due to Vistamare incompatibility. Here's the link -> http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/topic/96606-aes-not-for-fsxse/#entry688324
  9. cmpbellsjc's post in FSX Addons - FSGenesis and other improvements was marked as the answer
GEX and UTX don't contain mesh. Yes, it is advisable to install FSGenesis or any other mesh you own with those two products.
  10. cmpbellsjc's post in Strange Strips after installing Ultimate Terrain Europe X V2 (FSX) was marked as the answer
You can disable the power lines in the UTX UI if you don't want to see them.
  11. cmpbellsjc's post in Sun doesn't set was marked as the answer
No problem, glad that was it. When it happened to me a long time ago I was about to pull my hair out trying to figure out what had happened.

You can still use the day REX textures and just use the other ones for the sunsets, sunrises and night time if you want.
  12. cmpbellsjc's post in fireworks in FSX was marked as the answer
A Google search as jim suggested to you turned up this link that lists the dates, times and locations of all the fireworks in FSX, Remember you can change the date and time in FSX to check them out whenever you want.

  13. cmpbellsjc's post in Ils Autopilot was marked as the answer
You need to be at or below the glideslope for it to capture. If you intercept the localizer but are above the glideslope the AP will just follow the localizer like it has done in your case.
  14. cmpbellsjc's post in Fog At Night = Day was marked as the answer
You Running Shade? If so, it's a common problem for people running Shade at night and in low vis conditions, and you may need to revert back to stock.
  15. cmpbellsjc's post in Taxi2Gate KMCO Floating Bridges was marked as the answer
Hard to say then. The only other thing I can think of are:
    1. You have another ACFAD in play somewhere in FSX that is causing problems. If you're running MyTrafffic check to make sure the KMCO ACFAD it installs is either disabled or removed. Or, check to make sure you didn't install some freeware ADE file from Ray Smith or any other author.

    Or

    2. Check your scenery library and make sure the KMCO entry is above the KMCO-Terrain entry. If they are in the wrong scenery priority order with the Terrain entry being on top of the KMCO entry it could cause a problem.

If either of these two things dont fix it then the last ditch effort I would suggest is to rebuild your scenery cache making sure my first suggestion about the mesh complexity and resolution is set properly and then points 1 and 2. If that still doesn't fix it then you may need to visit the T2G support over at the iFlysimx forum.

One other thing, what else are you running? Do you use GEX, FTXG, UTX, FTX Vector? I use GEX and UTX and have not had to make any adjustments to those programs to make it work properly, but I can't say that FXTG or Vector might have some type of a flatten or other adjustment in play for that area that is preventing it from displaying correctly.
  16. cmpbellsjc's post in How to run Active Sky 2012 AND Next? was marked as the answer
Dont do that, there is no need to leave the setup tools open when using FSX.  Once you install the options you want in FSX from UTX they are there forever or until you change them. Same with AS2012, if you install cloud sets or a sky set, then there is no reason to open it again, unless you want to use the weather from it rather than the weather from ASN. Dont keep them open at the same time or it can cause problems because each will be trying to inject weather into the sim.

That info is in the briefing page at the top.

No. Just use create the flight plan using either a flight planner and save it and import it into ASN or use the ASN planner.

I strongly recommend that you read the PDF that comes with ASN so you can get a better idea of how to work the program since most of the information you're asking about the program is in the manual.

Lastly, if you want to insert textures for every flight like you did with AS2012, then you can simply load AS2012, create your flight, load the textures you want. Once the textures are installed, close AS2012 and open ASN, reload or re-do you flight plan and then start FSX. Don't run UTX or leave the UTX program open when using FSX as its not needed and was not designed to be open when FSX is running, and absolutely dont have AS2012 and ASN running at the same time.

They are in another hidden folder where your working scenery.cfg is, not the one in your main FSX folder.
  18. cmpbellsjc's post in [RESOLVED] Your website is slow - Don't blame ISPs! was marked as the answer
Yep, working fine now on both my computer and my phone. I wonder what the problem was, but I am glad its back.

It's kind of funny how I can feel so dependent on Avsim working properly when I open a browser and want to catch up on all the latest stuff. I feel let down when its not working and after I run through some of the other FS sites, mostly the 3PD ones and a few sim blogs, I still feel empty without my multi-daily Avsim fix, lol.
