September 24, 200916 yr Hi, easy question: can someone explain - better than the product manuals can - just how the A320 autopilot works, specifically, what's the difference between the dot, a line of '---' and a number in the autopilot settings?I'm using the Wilco A320 series package by the way. thnx
September 24, 200916 yr Commercial Member This is all in the documentation that came with the aircraft. The two main modes are 'Managed' & 'Selected' Lets take speed for example, if you have properly configured the FMGS it will calculate your speed for all regimes of flight. To use these speeds the aircraft needs to be in 'managed' mode. The way to achieve this is to 'Push' the Speed knob on the FCU, It will then turn Dashed to let you know the FMGS is in control. Now if for whatever reason you wanted to manually select your own speed (perhaps ATC requests a slower/faster speed on approach for separation) you can 'Pull' the speed knob on the FCU and it will give you 'Selected' speed which will display your current speed. You can then rotate the knob left or right to increase/decrease speed. The Wilco docs may not be the best but it's all in there.RegardsRob Rob Prest

September 24, 200916 yr HiOne small note about Wilco Abus.Managed mode does not work correctly.Especially in managed descent, so you will have to plan descent by hand (manually), because pseudowaypoint recalculation does not work.I hope AirSimmer will be better ;-)Edin
