FS9 Will not launch

Featured Replies

Never have seen this before.Booted up to launch FS9, Icon came up and another small window which read..."Bad Licence for B767-300, FS12004 will not quit"The header to that small window read "level D Simulations Module"I have not touched/played with the 767 for well over Three months.I looked into the Modules directory with the 767 and saw nothing out of the ordinary.I ran another McAfee scan and a registry cleaner. Also twice a week I run a spyware program.Have not downloaded anything related to Level D". System was just fine last night.Runniing Windows XP SP3, no major harware changes recently.Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.Cheers,irish3

Very simple solution: Run the original installer, enter your license as you would install, up to the point where you would install the aircraft. But don't install it - there is no need. New license file will be created and everything should be OK.

Any dll in FS9's Modules folder loads with the sim, whether it is used at the time or not. So if something happened to dork the license file and/or registry entry, it makes sense that would happen. You can remove the LVLD.dll file from the \Modules folder, which will stop the problem, but you will not be able to fly the Level D B767 until you reinstall it from the Flight1 wrapper or CD, which should fix the license file issue.RegardsBob ScottColonel, USAF (ret)ATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VColorado Springs, CO

Thanks gents, will give er a go...appreciate it :( Irish3

I believe a recent update of the mcafee virus definitions has the flt1chk4.dll as a virused file. It has been quarantining that file and that is why we are seeing this problem. You can have mcafee classify it as trusted if you can or if your mcafee version won't, you'll have to restore it each time it quarantines it. I've sent the file to mcafee, hopefully this will be fixed shortly.

Thanks Kevin,I moved the .dll folder and the sim started right up. Curious about McAfee and what it's doing to that file. I may reinsert the file and see what McAfeecatches. Thanks for the info.irish3
