Arghhh! Not saving .rcd file

Featured Replies

After a gap of a week or so, i was doing a longish flight over the pond only to find that the .rcd file was not saved at the end. Very frustrating! I tried saving flights again this morning, and when pressing the shift/CTRL/; keys, all the FSX files are saved, but there is no .rcd file saved. I have double checked that I right clicked on the icon to run RC as an administrator as I am using Vista.I have checked the path in the .FLT/.WX path and this seems correct, and the programme will load in older .RCD files already stored so it knows where to store and look.Any help would be much appreciated.Chris HallBournemouth.

do a search of your machine for *.rcd - maybe the path you entered isn't right, and it is somewhere else.without a log, i can't tell where it went, or what happened.you could try another flight, and as soon as rc starts, press ctrl/shift/; and look at the path where rc is storing the file. that is probably where the other one is.

Hello JD.I have already done all of these things. The search only showed up the older .RCD files. The newer files just dissapear. I have tried again and again to save files and all the FSX files are saved, but no .RCD file. The only change to my setup since my last successful save is to install Halo2. Any help would be appreciated.Chris HallBournemouth.

make a log. details on the top of the forum. click debug, load the plan, start fs, click start rc. when you get the rc menu, press ctrl-shift-;close rc, send me the .logi'll tell you where your rcd file is going

I had this problem for awhile, in fact it became a habit to check and see if the .rcd was saved, and many times it wasn't. What I finally figured out was I wasn't giving the computer time enough to save it. Now after I save it, I just let the flight run while I count to 5, then check and it's worked fine ever since. I guess maybe we have slower computers :-)Bill
