  1. I'm sure Carenado knows by now that Flight1 has released the Garmin GTN650/750 for FSX. This is a modern GPS unit that in the real world has replaced the GNS430/530 in Garmin's catalog. I've tried somewhat successfully to add the gauge to some of my Carendao aircraft in place of the RXP Garmin units, but adding it to the VC panels is another thing. I've done it, but back lighting designed for the older RXP or Carenado units is a problem. I don't know how to find it's file. Plus the newer Carenado planes have bezels embedded in the panels. Are there any plans to issue installer programs to add this new gauge? It sure would be nice since most of Carenado's GA aircraft are prime candidates for this upgrade.
  2. I have both, and like both, but I like to look at what I'd buy in the real world if I had the bucks, and that would be the TBM. You can fill it with people and fuel and fly. The Jet Prop and Malibu's and Meridian's are really more personal airplanes. Yeah, they have four seats in back, but you'll have to leave fuel at home to use them. I use the TBM to fly for Greenbrier Virtual which is actually a air taxi service, so being able to fill it with folks is a plus.
  3. Yes! That works great. Naturally I was looking all around the MFD since that's what I wanted to turn down, and I read the manual...it just says the Menu button lets you change some settings. Doesn't say which ones. Thanks Bert, as usual you're on top of it. Bill
  4. Has anyone come up with a way to turn down the brightness of the MFD in Topo mode? The pop up is perfect, but in the normal virtual panel view it seems too bright. Bill
  5. The water rudder handle is between the seats to the left of the flap control. It's the same location as the tail wheel lock, which is my problem. My C185 Amphibian has both. It shouldn't.
  6. I had flown the 185 Float before but I guess never the amphibian until today. For some reason I have a Water Rudder lever AND a Tail Wheel lever on top of each other on the floor. Obviously there is no tail wheel and so that doesn't do anything, but it's over the Water Rudder that I do need to use and finding just the right mouse spot to move it is very difficult. Does anyone know where in the files I should go to eliminate the Tail Wheel lever on this plane?
  7. Now that I have a computer capable of running RC and Ultimate Traffic X, I'm running into "Holding". The weird thing is, it's not working the way the RC info says it should. I'm getting sent back to my last VOR waypoint as I get to within 70 miles of my destination. I'm guessing several things are occuring: I use the RC "pause" feature. I will reach altitude and then go off to do real world stuff...like go to work..and return to the paused flight at say 100 miles out. 10 or 20 miles later I get sent back to my last VOR, over 80 miles last time. According to what I've read a hold should be issued at some point and I should be doing the default 20 mile out and back thing over some point in space. What I think is happening is that radio call is happening while I've got my "RC Copilot" running the radio and the plane and I'm missing the call to do that, or maybe I need VOR's closer to my destination for them to send me to. I'm flying a King Air by the way, not airliners. Anyway, if someone could give me some help on this, I would appreciate it. Thanks, Bill
  8. Okay, I failed to say in the body of my question that it's the RXP 530 & 430 I've installed via the installer that came with the P46T. The RXP GNS530 works, the 430 does not. Maybe I need to mess around with Vcockpit02 a bit. On mine the units not in use are listed as shown below with a ; after the = mark instead of // before the gauge...: [Vcockpit02] Background_color=0,0,0 size_mm=1024,1024 visible=0 pixel_size=1024,1024 texture=$Panel_2 gauge00=rxpWX500!RDR, 9,9,492,309 gauge01=;GPS_530_3D_P46T!gps_500, 7,337,493,358 gauge02=Radio_P46T!RadioAdf, 524,670,496,100 gauge03=;GPS_430_3D_P46T!GNS430_nc2, 517,259,497,258 gauge04=DIGTTRANS_P46T!transponder, 516,529,501,126 gauge05=Radio_P46T!RadioTrans, 520,126,496,112 gauge06=Radio_P46T!RadioAudio, 520,8,498,98 gauge07=GAUGEP46T!Gauge_Anum_R, 381,786,635,229 gauge08=GAUGEP46T!Gauge_Engine_Trend, 14,711,299,298
  9. This problem finally corrected itself after I rebooted the computer. Man I've got to learn to read the fine print on these installers. Thanks for the help Bert.
  10. I had both installed in the P46T in the old computer but when I try in the new Jetline the 530 installs but the 430 has no screen on the pop up and the one in the VC panel says it won't work. The 430 is working fine in other Carenado aircraft. This is the only one I've ever had both in, and it's not a big deal to me, but strange never the less.
  11. Success finally! I used the method Boeing 737-800 suggested, downloaded the .dll from the site Ronzi found, and followed the instructions. It worked. Thanks guys
  12. I tired it twice but it won't work. I don't think the computer is recognizing the file when I put it in syswow64. If I leave it in both that and system32 it only sees it in the 32 file, and if I delete it from 32 it can't find it even if it's in the 64 file.
  13. I haven't received an e-mail from you since Friday, so I thought I'd go here. I tried the method you have posted here, but since the file I'm missing is required to make the thing work, it didn't work. I also tried moving the MSSTDFMT.DLL file I have from the old computer into the SysWOW 64 file, but alas it won't recognize it there. I'm still unable to load a Flight Plan into RC, so I can't use it until this is fixed. Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks, Bill Cox
  14. Nothing new on the A36. I did add the service pack, and obviously I had it because it made no difference. I also tried going back to the Carenado GNS430's..both showed in the pop up, but the RXP unit (non working) was still in the panel?? I then ran the RXP install again, and it came up exactly like before with only the RXP and a blank space on the pop up and the RXP in charge but not linking to the EFD.
  15. Here's the entry in the panel file: [[Window Titles] Window00=GPS Window01=Toggle_Manual Window02=Toggle_Control Window03=EFD1000 Window04=INFO Window05=Reality XP Wx500 Radar - RXP_CONFIG_TOOL - DO NOT CHANGE Window06=Reality XP DropStack Window07=XGauge //-------------------------------------------------------- [Window00] Background_color=49,49,49 size_mm=500,500 window_size_ratio=1.000 position=0 visible=0 ident=794 window_size= 0.320, 0.444 window_pos= 0.020, 0.505 zorder=0 gauge00=rxpGNS!GNS430, 7,3,486,233 gauge01=CarenadoG430!GNS430_nc2, 0,235,504,270 gauge02=BA36!Toggle_GPS, 115,21,274,164 gauge03=BA36!Toggle_GPS, 114,274,278,164 //-------------------------------------------------------- as you can see it lists both GNSs, but only the RXP one shows. When I click Shift 1 I get the Manual, and Shidt 2 I get the box to click off reflecting glass, etc. I just checked the GNS430 (I had cockpit tips turned off) and it does say the GNS430 is the active GPS. I've already flown with it so I figured that was true. I just can't get the thing to command the EFD. Maybe I don't have the right A36 update. I see that I downloaded it Nov. 14th of last year, but I swear this thing worked on the old computer. I appreciate your continuing to try and help me on this. Bill
