October 3, 200916 yr Hey guys, just recently I had a problem with my FSX today.. I was playing multiplayer and I left the game for a few hours in the briefing room..When I came back to play, my fx_1 fx_2 fx_3 files were missing from my ...effects/texture folder!I don't want to re-install or repair from my install CD because I have lots of 3rd-party software.. That's why I'm asking for someone to send me these missing files through my e-mail ([email protected]) I appreciate it if someone has the time to send me these files..Thanks!-Immanuel

Stick the FSX dvd in the drive and browse the cab files. You will then be able to extract any file you want
October 3, 200916 yr You don't have to. Stick the FSX dvd in the drive and browse the cab files. You will then be able to extract any file you wantHi, I have tried this earlier too, but its like finding a lost bird in the jungle.. The files in the .cabs are not called "fx_2" or something like that, there like numbers with letters..If you can specify the cab number and the file name I would like that.
October 3, 200916 yr The Repair option will neither delete nor modify any add-ons. It only compares a list of FS X elements with those present on the hard drive, and replaces the missing elements. The Repair option is the best way to solve this problem.Best regards.Luis Hot, humid Caribbean paradise!

October 4, 200916 yr Try to move the file Logbook.BIN away from the folder C:\Users\<your_login_name>\Documents\Flight Simulator X Files and see if this helps. It didn't work, I think some of my texture files are corrupt..I will be re-installing the whole game :( I'll report what happens next.
October 4, 200916 yr Ok, did a re-install and everything is normal..I'm still unsure of what was the cause though. Hopefully it wouldn't happen in the future.-Immanuel
