runway assignment

Featured Replies

Hi there all,Recently cannot get ATC to assign takeoff from EGCC on RWY 23L. Keeps assigning 5L. Have recently d/l a new AFCAD file - have checked that correct boxes are ticked for t/off and landing. I have tried manipulating the wind directions within weather to see if that would change the assignment but to no avail. Also run with AS 6.5Can anyone think what else could be wrong.Thanks,Al.

It would help to know the name of the file and where you got it.Without looking at a specific file I can see that the stock EGCC has an ILS approach for 6R but not one for 24L, which I think will give the 6R end some priority. If you install an AFCAD that was intended to renumber the runways, it is important that the approach data also be modified to match or the AF2 will break the ATC setup for it.scott s..

Hi,Sounds like the AFCAD has renumbered the default runway numbers, or added another runway? I have found that in these cases FS can change its normal behavior, and the renamed/added runway can become either a "super runway" (always chosen, no matter the wind) or a "pariah runway" (never chosen). With airports with multiple runways, it can also cause other (default) runways to never be selected.Jim Vile has investigated this, and has not yet found an explanation for this behavior. One way to remove the Super Runway status is to remove the start locations for that runway, but then it will usually never be used.Hope this helps,
