Help...I goofed

Featured Replies

Hello all,I downloaded the paint kit for the POSKY 737-800 off of their site, and spent hours painting a new texture. I paint my textures in the free program 'Paint.net', which I love. I use the program 'Dxtbmp' (also free) to save my files. When I brought up FSX and selected my new texture, the fuselage loaded black and glassy. I didn't edit the wing or engine files, so they look fine. At first I saved it as a plain .bmp, then as an extended bitmap (DXT1 (no alpha)) with the same result. The files had two layers, but I did flatten them before saving. I am not very good with making textures, so please tell me if I need to save in a different format, or something else. Thank you in advance for any help!-E.R.

Not familiar with Paint.net. Will it separate layers? Sometimes you have to flip or rotate textures to get them to sit on the plane properly.Bob

Thanks Bob for your reply.I fixed it. Sorry everybody. Somehow I had the fuselage textures aliased to a different plane, with a different shape etc. Not sure how I did that, but I re-pasted my textures in my plane's texture folder, as well as renamed the texture.XXXXX file of the other aircraft and it worked fine.Once again, Thanks and Sorry-Ethan
