Thanks in advance.I don't know about changing the colour but ATC speaking to AI is always yellow, the options for what you can say are white and the ATC instuctions to you are green... I have noticed that different anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering options can have a strong impact on the clarity of the ATC text as well...Geoff
October 27, 200916 yr A little while back I was running into issues with my video card driver and found that it was affecting the boldness of my ATC text. Sometimes when I'd change stuff the ATC text would display with very "thin" characters. So I messed around with the different drivers and then discovered the MS ClearType Tuning PowerToy. I ran it once and then turned it off, (I found it wasn't useful for me because it affected the entire Windows environment). The funny thing was it did something to the FS9 ATC text so now it seems bolder and easier to read. Even after I turned the tuning tool off, the rest of Windows went back to normal and the ATC text stayed a bit bolder. I have no idea what setting it used but I suppose if the ATC text ever did get funky again, I'd just run the tool and then turn it off once more. Hope that helps your friend Opa...MarkMS XP Power Toyhttp://www.microsoft.com/typography/ClearTypePowerToy.mspxOnline Tuning and Instructionshttp://www.microsoft.com/typography/cleart...uner/step1.aspx
October 27, 200916 yr Author Thanks for ideas and suggestions guys.I think I will provide my friend with a brief lesson in "docking" and "undocking" the ATC window (Right click on the top of it). That will not only place the text on a solid (rather than transparent) background color but will also allow him to resize it if he wants to and move it to a better location on his screen - perhaps with blue sky as the transparent background. Thanks again. :(
