October 30, 200916 yr Hi NickSaw this in one of your previous posts. I dont suppost you have one like this for an i7 975 with DDR3 1600 7-7-7-20 do you.Have pushed an OC but not terribly happy with it and temp is getting up. I would like to know what you would suggest. October 31, 200916 yr Well, actually knowing what temps you are getting would help. Also what kind of cooling do you have? Jim Wenham

I do not know if the memory you are using is designed for 1N or 2N operation. OCZ memory usually requires an addtional manual setting in memory timing and sometimes a bit hotter DRAM VOLTAGE to stabilize however your primary problem sounds like its heatsink and tower cooling related. You can not clock very high on the Intel heatsink and if you installed a 3rd party HSF you may not have installed it correctly. Memory speed remains constantCPU RATIO x BCLOCK = CPU SPEED For a 3.6GHZ clock, CPU RATIO = 27 For a 3.73GHZ clock, CPU RATIO = 28 For a 3.87GHZ clock, CPU RATIO = 29 For a 4.0GHz clock, CPU RATIO = 30With a 975 you can work BCLOCK and CPU RATIO just like you do with the 920/950. This can be necessary to obtain different memory speeds but not required if your memory speed is to remain a constant @ 1600Intel
October 31, 200916 yr Author Hi GuysThank you for your help. I installed a Nocttura NH-U12P yesterday and after my new OC which seems a lot more stable, I did the OCCT test for an hour and temps only got to about 75C max which I believe is oK. My memory is 6gb Corsair CMG6GX3M3A16000C7 7-7-7-20 1600Mhz which has two fanz cooling it as well.At he moment my clock looks like thisASUS P6T DELUXE V2 i7 975 DDR3 1600 7-7-7-20 4GHzJumperFree Configuration SettingsAI Overclock tuner: MANUALCPU Ratio Setting: 20Intel Regards Barra i7 7700K, 16GB 3200MHz DDR4, GTX1070 OC 8GB, 1TB Samsung SSD for OS and P3D4.4, W10 64Bit, Corsair H115i Water Cooling
November 1, 200916 yr Looks good to me. You can probably set your QPI @ 1.35 and then start to optimize your CPU voltage. Keep notching it down 1 notch at a time till it becomes unstable and wont pass OCCT. When you hit that point raise it back up 1 notch and your good to go flyin. Jim Wenham
