October 31, 200916 yr My system is about 2 years old and can't buy a new one for a while unless I want to be divorced. I was thinking about maybe just getting a better CPU than I have now but don't know what would be an improvement. I currently have a Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 @ 3.00 GHz 1333FSB (no OC). It is on a 780i motherboard with a 775 socket.Does anyone have an idea what better CPU would work in this setup? I would like to overclock this one but everytime I think about it I chicken out because of my limited experience in these matters. Any advice would be appreciated including any "how to" info on overclocking my current system.Thanks.Jim
October 31, 200916 yr Depends on your budget. Assuming proper PSU, case, and graphics card already in place, you could swap a new mobo, ram, and cpu in there and get a huge performance boost via overclocking. Or you could just o/c what you have now...
