fs9 using vista home

Hello all, was a long time user of xp (thinking i'll go back to it. installed fs9 on vista home premium and can't find the fs9.cfg. any help? thanks, mike

Check in the C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FS9 folder with xxxx being your name.

You have to make sure you can see hidden folders and files in Windows Explorer. It's in Folder Options/Settings under the Organize menu, sorry if the wording is slightly off to what you really see.Ok from here I have to give a Warning (^-^;; ...I don't have Vista in front of me right now, so I can't remember exactly the folder names.Ok, now that I said that... Once you have the option to show all folders and files you will see a new faded out folder in your user account folder, not the C:/User/ folder, called "AppData". In this folder you will find 3 folders called "Local", "Roaming", and "RoamingLow/Local Low". I believe that the FS9.cfg file is in the that Low Roaming folder, but I could be mistaken. Navigating through these folders you should find a succession of folders like "Microsoft/Microsoft Games/FS9" or "Microsoft/Microsoft Games/Flight Simulator". The FS9.cfg will be there.If this doesn't help you can just do a search on the "AppData" folder in your user account folder. It is in there that I know, lol.

You are right though, you might have to set folder options to see hidden folders. I always set them to visible when I do a fresh install of Windows so I can see everything and not get the are you sure messages when trying to access Windows folders.
