Working on photo-scenery-bgl

Featured Replies

Hello, with FSX there where introduced photo-scenery-files as bgl, including many single photo-files in one big bgl-file. Now I want to change some small things on the photo-bitmap, but how can I work on that ???In FS9 there where single bitmaps which you could work very easy, but how can I work on that FSX-bgl?? Who can help me?Bernhard

While in FSX the BGL file may be large, the source for the compiled file may range from 1 to many, Editing the source and recompiling is the process.

But I have no source files....I have only the bgl !!It is a commercial photoscenery of an island I have buyed recently. There are a lots of marinas on that island but they are only on the photo-bitmap and no 3-D objects. So I want to place 3-D marinas with Instant Scenery on top of that scenery. Of course they don't match, so I want to clean the bitmap to get rid of the underlying marina-picture. And for that I want to work on that phtot-file.Bernhard

Hello Bernhard,There is presently no way to extract the image from the bgl. You can either request that the authors modify the scenery, or make new scenery yourself. Please see Make photo-real ground textures in Flight Simulator X, available in the Avsim library:http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID...amp;DLID=112595Best regards.Luis
