Text Being Cut Off
Bryan,of course this is no bug. But I would be interested, how someone with normal eyes can use windows7 with a 1920x1200 resolution with fonts in small fontsize (100%)???!!!??Since long times it isn't possible to change every text in windows. Yes, you have the option to change the displays, you can change font size in dialog, in menu, in title. But you cannot change EVERY text size. There are lots of text, which remains in their original font and which are unchangeable.Original windows was developped for resolutions like 640x480, or 800x600. With such resolution there was absolute no problems. But with all those newer and higher resolutions like for example 1920x1200, readability is getting worther and worther, coz you have to handle with tiny textes. Young people may have no problems with that, but older people will suffer more. And the ONLY solution is to change font size to 125 % or higher. This will enhance readability for ALL text in a very easy and comfortable way. But of course, programs must be able to handle that. Fortunatly I have no problems with my programs and there are very very few, which cannot handle it and which cut off text in some frames (like in your main menue). As I said, I have no problems with it, but I hope you can now understand why a normal 100 % fontsize is no option for me.Bernhard

Text Being Cut Off
Damien, thanks for your help. But as I said, it has nothing to do with screen resolution. The problem is in the font size. When I use normal font size (100 % standard) than everything is ok, but when I use middle size (125 %) or greater size (150 %) the text is cut off.But it's just a minor bug and don't disturbs me much.Bernhard

Text Being Cut Off
Screen resolution is 1920x1200. FSX is in windowed mode. But I don't think that this has something to do with it.Bernhard

Text Being Cut Off
I have the same problem. I installed again, but text is still cut off.Could it be, that the problem is the font size? For better readability I'm using middle font size (125 %).Bernhard

Included Video-Marshaller
I had the same problem. What I did was copying the FSVM.gau from the folder: Microsoft Flight Simulator XFSVideoMarshallerGauge into the folder: Microsoft Flight Simulator XGaugesBernhard

Unable to see control panel
OK, I sorted it out. I made some modifications in my panel.cfg before (installing RealityXP weather gauge and an ACARS) and it seems that FS2Crew-configurator has some problems with that. After some changing of the lines it works now. Also PA-window now closes in the right manner. But but but................I have now problems with the video marshaller. I can open the Video Marshaller panel, but whenever I click on the left scew, nothing happens. Normaly a video panel must open here, showing a marshaller (I'm in windowed mode and pause on task switch is unchecked). Anyone has a clue?Bernhard

Unable to see control panel
Damien, thank you for your answer, but I wrote that i HAVE this entry in my panel.cfg. But it doesn't work !And another problem: if I open the PA panel I cannot close it. When clicking on the top right hand screw It just flickers, but the window stays open. Also a second click on the main panel PA-button doesn't close the PA window.Bernhard

Unable to see control panel
For me the same. Click spot works in 2D panel but not in VC!There is the following entry in the VC section of my panel.cfg://////////////////////////////////////////////////////// VC SECTION 36// Third Party Addon///////////////////////////////////////////////////////[VCockpit36]size_mm=8,8pixel_size=8,8texture=$ThirdPartybackground_color=0,0,0gauge00=FS2Crew2010VersionsPMDG737NGXGaugesFS2CrewNGXVoice!FS2Crew_Icon, 0,0,8,8Is that correct?Bernhard

Ability to control Radar Contact 4?
Try Flight Assistant 2. That's an old, but very neat small programm which transforms your voice commands into keypresses. And with it you can handle RC4 very good. It works in FS9 and in FSX. And the best: it's freeware !!!Bernhard

Some problems
Hallo,I haven't yet the J41 FS2Crew-version. But I own the Maddog-version of FS2Crew, also a voice-driven application. And although my english is not very good (I'm german) after some short time my voice-recognition is nearly 100 %. I also have a headset, so with a headset you will also have success ! :( Bernhard

Flight1 Islander Sounds
To be honest,I don't like this discussion as it is at the moment. Someone who don't know this product may have the impression, that there are lots of shortcommings here. Bad sound.....terrible panel.....who knows whatever also is not working here!!But all those simmers who may be interested in this airplane listen:this is a wonderful product, with a VC you never ever have seen before. All is sharp, all instruments work smooth, every single texture inside is well done. Very much functionality, it doesn't miss anything. So I'm sure noone will regret buying it.And regarding the click-sounds: I LIKE THEM !!!!!! In real-life when you click something, you feel with your hands, that you have moved something. In FS you don't feel it, so you must hear it! So please don't remove those sounds.Don't let you influence by something like: "instruments aren't round but 24 sided angular shapes". That is much overdone critic. You don't see those polygons, you will see nice round instruments.Bernhard (not a developer or elsewhere involved in this product, just a consumer)

New experience with FS
FS2Crew has given me totally new experiences........Although I have written in this forum, that I had severe diffiuculities in learning the Maddog FS2Crew version I have to admit, that I have found some phantastic new experiences. After managing the voice-commands of FS2Crew I developted new skills in managing RadarContact4. Using this software before only with my keyboard, I discovered that I can manage the whole ATC with spoken commands via Flight Assistant. This is a neat (although old) software to change spoken commands to keyboard inputs. So from now on I speak my RC4 commands rather than typing these commands (like 1, 2, 3 and so on). This is a phantastic experience for me. Although I use FS since long years I haven't thought about a spoken ATC.So I encourage everyone who wants to develop new skills to use FS2Crew and to use Flight Assistant (or other software changing voice to keyboard-inputs). It's really a very new style of flying. So Bryan York......thank you very much for your Maddog-FS2Crew and presenting me new things in FS!!!Bernhard

Fly Tampa-Vienna X package is in upload
Gerard, after some difficulties in downloading Vienna I finally managed to install it in FSX.I have to admit you've made a very good job on this and I want to thank you very much to enable LOWW in FSX. Although there are some issues with transparant textures and with missing objects (comparing to the original FS9 version) this adaption is very good. It must have been a very hard work to get rid of all those problems to adapt a FS9 scenery in FSX. And with your new photo-texture of the LOWW ground it's now easy to taxi on the airport. Although we have now a working version of LOWW in FSX let's all hope for a real new FSX version from FlyTampa. I still have not lost all my hope that they will work on it! But until than, your work is wonderful and very much appreciated. Thanks a lot! Bernhard

Open the FMS-window
Hello Bryan, that would be wonderful if you could implement such a clickspot. If it only works with the middle mouse button over the PFD it will be ok also ! :(ThanksBernhard

Open the FMS-window
Hello Bryan,I have a request concerning the FMS in the Maddog. It has nothing to do with FS2Crew: When I'm in the VC there is no clickspot to open the FMS in it's own 2D-window (like it is possible in the 2D-cockpit). For me I cannot program the FMS in VC, I need a 2D-window!But I see, that you have made an icon to open your FS2Crew windows when clicking on the PFD. Though, how can I make an icon to open the FMS in a 2-D window, if I click on the FMS in VC? Can you give me any hints..........or can you even program that icon for me/us? I don't think that this is very difficult (if one knows what to do). But it would be very convenient to open the FMS with a mouse-click instead of the shift-8 command.I see no chance to ask these question in the Maddog-forum, coz the Maddog developers are nearly invisible there and surely don't bother about my request.Bernhard

I'm lost also...............
Ok ok Bryan........after some more starts I get used of this new experience. And I have to admit that you have done a very good job here. If one has some routine all goes very easy and in a nearly logical way.And I must say that voice recognition works very very good. Although you mention something about to prefer american slang, my His-Holy-Royalty-Prince-Charles-Voice was understood most of the time without any problems :( .Bernhard

Problems with the doors
Oh guys..........you make me crazy. My company is a no-frills company, boarding the airplane in less than 10 minutes. So I need 3 open doors to push all those lousy passengers inside that iron pipe! :( Bernhard
-
Problems with the doors
But unfortunatly AES brings a stairway to the rear door and now my passangers are standing before a closed door, coz my cabin crew will not open that door :( You can imagine, that they were very upset........and I can understand it ! :( Bernhard
-
Problems with the doors
Front door and cargo doors do open (before CabinCrew asks for boarding). But I thought that rear door and stairway door does open, when boarding starts?I have not changed the default doors-shortcuts. But I remember from MD11 that controlling doors seem a bit difficult for FS2Crew.Bernhard
-
Problems with the doors
But........if I remember right, on my very first attempt with FS2Crew all the doors were opened and I remember the noise from the crew opening the doors?? But maybe my memories were wrong ??Bernhard
-
Problems with the doors
Hello, still learning this beast. :( My question is related to the doors. When CabinCrew during pre start check comes in the cockpit and tells me, if we're ready to start boarding, I answer with "Yes, we are", and she answers "Ok" (or something like that - than I can hear people entering the airplane). But after that no doors were opened! Isn't it so, that the CabinCrew should open the doors after my "Yes, we are"? The only open door is the front door (opened right at the start of the pre start check). In the config-panel doors are set to "yes" and AES is set to "yes".After that, when I make the PA: "Cabin crew disarm slides and open doors" this command is understood (reading it on the green bar) but nothing happens, doors are still closed. But after the PA: "Cabin crew extend aft stairway" the aft stairway will be extended.Bernhard

I'm lost also...............
Bryan,of course I printed out the manual, but it's very difficult to follow 3 single lists. I'm still convinced, that one single list would have been much better than 3 seperate lists ! I'm no real-world Captain, so I don't know what to ask/answer my FO at every stage of the flight, so it's very difficult to work with those separate lists.Ok, I will try those video-tutorials, for that I'm not lost any more in the virtual sky :( By the way, I appreciate your work very much, it's a big improvement for all who wants more realism. But don't make it too complcated! :(Bernhard

I'm lost also...............
Hello,I recently bougt the FS2Crew-Maddog. That seems to be a good an innovative product. But at the moment I'm not very satisfied. What I absolutly don't like is the manual. Having bought the FS2Crew ATR and MD11 before, there I have gotten good manuals with a worflow you can follow very easy. But in the Maddog-version the written crew-flows are way to complicated. You have to look at the same time in 3 parts of the manual. You have to follow your own Captain-flow, you have to follow the FO-flow and you have to look at the checklists. So you have to change the sides in the manual every second to look for the next event/trigger/check. Why couldn't it be possible to make this in one big flow. Captain pre-start procedure than FO pre-start procedure than pre-start checklist and so on. This would me much easier to follow !!I hoped the implementaion of voice would make FS2CREW easier but until now I think it's more complicated than ever. Workflow in the MD11 was much more easier to follow. Two minor points:After the FS2Crew-Maddog installation I have files in c:\programme\FS2Crew, I have files in d:\FSX\FS2CREW and I have files in D:\FSX\FS2CREW2010. A bit much, isn't it?? Is it really necessary to spread the files around the whole directory? And I have now 105MB files of DXUpdates in FS2Crew2010\misc\DXUpdate. Why couldn't it be deleted automaticly after installation? Or do I need them again?Bernhard

Creating LODs with FS Design Studio
Bill, your answer is not fair. If you have knew this trick and didn't told it to me/others, than this is a bad behavior. Something of holding back a special knowledge and didn't tell others about it.If you havn't knew the trick than you must be happy that someone found it. This trick makes many people happy. There are lots of FSX sceneries which work with LODs, so it must work in FSX (even with a trick). And I think there are lots of tricks which professional designers use in FSX to enhance their work. And I don't think that these are dirty tricks. I'm sure, that FS was filled with faults from start on so one must live with those tricks.Bernhard
