November 21, 200916 yr Hello all... I have installed several of the "Six Pack" Reality XP gauges from both the Flightline T and N packs I purchased a couple of weeks ago.To the best of my ability (both with manual edits and also using FS Panel Studio), I have successfully replaced many of the stock FSX gauges to look reasonably well within the Virtual Cockpit of the default Maule M7 in FSX.However, there are still some visual anomalies that I cannot fix. For example, with the Bendix King KI525, both the Course and Heading knobs get "painted over" somewhat by the default FSX knobs of the Virtual Cockpit. Other gauges, such as the Attitude Indicator and VSI also suffer from this problem.I have tinkered with the size and position settings for these gauges in the panel.cfg (both by hand and using FSPS) and no matter what adjustments I make, I still can't get around the default FSX "bitmaps" from partially drawing over the Reality XP gauges within the VC.I've scoured the forums and help manuals and I'm hearing that this is largely a limitation within the FSX Virtual Cockpit; that you have to place the gauges as closely as you can within the "holes" of the default VC (where the original stock gauges normally display). Any part of a Reality XP gauge that doesn't fit cleanly within the "hole" of the default FSX gauge will get overlapped by the VC's own images. Can you confirm whether this is basically a known (and unfixable) limitation? Is there a suitable workaround to this problem?I appreciate any help you can provide with this issue! :(
November 25, 200916 yr Hello,I've just been trying to address this very problem and found this post. Unfortunately I don't have a solution but would very much like one! KI525 HSI native resolution is 500x475, where as the ASI is 400x400. The relative proportions need to be maintained but the holes in panels ( jf Archer III in my case) are all the same size- so I can either have a undersized HSI which is difficult to read or one the correct size where the edges of it are 'overdrawn' by the archer virtual panel. Infuriating!!!Is there any way simply to display the gauges on top?Hopefully you've made some progress with this pronlem and can share your wisdom?Cheers.
