November 25, 200916 yr Just received my new Win7 computer and am beginning to start the install process for FSX, it's been awhile. I have the original disks for FSX and the Acceleration Expansion Pack. I need a confirmation, do I just install FSX followed by the Acceleration and I'm done. Or do I need to install some service packs, something like SP1 then accelleration. Also I remember also installing some SDKs; are those necessary? If so, what the install sequence. I'll then start installing some addons like ASX, My Traffic, scenery, etc. It's going to take awhile to get back up speed, I stopped playing the Sim in frustration of lock-ups on my 32 bit Vista computer, now with this 64 bit system and 12Gig of RAM,... hopefully no more lock-ups./s/ Tony

I installed fsx, acceleration and the sdk's. Then 100 add ons and all their serial numbers, patches. Took me 10 days of all day long-it was awful...and lost about 5 for good, and still have a few with problems. So far Windows 7 looks like a winner...Good luck-but the results are amazing! Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!

In part he says, "Acceleration takes care of both SP1 and SP2 in one shot[/b]If installing for a 'non' Acceleration with SP2 its the same process except:After you complete STEP 1, 2 and 3 above, replace STEP 4 with: Install SP1, boot the sim default flight, close and reboot the computer Install SP2, boot the sim default flight, close and reboot the computer ".The only question that I have is, do you need to install the SDKs?/s/ Tony
November 25, 200916 yr The only question that I have is, do you need to install the SDKs?/s/ TonyIf you have made it to AVSIM you can call yourself a FS enthusiast. Most enthusiasts will install the SDK. Whether they will use it or not doesn't matter. If you have the disk space, I would install it. Chances are you will need it in the future. I'm getting there, at least I've got FSX up-to speed for just FSX, now for all those addons, yipes!!/s/ Tony
