November 30, 200916 yr Hello guys!I am looking for free/payware aircraft which are able to use the default FS9 flightplan. I am looking for 'semi realistic' aircraft, with the ability to use the FS9 default flightplans so no FMC knowledge is required, and the default ATC can be used. I am a casual 'off-line' pilot, and not interested in an extensive FMC using another database.I am now using the PMDG 737 together with the PSPanels 737NG and this is working like a charm. Nice panel features with IRS, APU etc. and autopilot using default flightplans so I can use the built-in ATC.Since I am a bit bored I am looking for other aircraft (757/767, A318/A319/A320...). I only found:- Overland A320 series- CLS Airbus/BoeingAny help would be welcome!
November 30, 200916 yr The Overland Boeing series is great and I have used them with Friendly Panels for years. Check out the Just Flight website and the CLS packages, especially their 747-200 - 300. They very often have a "lite" version panel that has an FMC, but very much scaled down. If you have the Friendly Panels, you've got the expensive part of the plane, so the freeware POSKY planes would work great for you, too.One side comment -- I avoided the use of Payware A/C that had "complex" FMCs for a long time after I got a little bored, too. About 3 months ago I bought the PMDG -- and between Captain Mike Ray's book on flying the Boeing series 700 and YouTube I invested all of about 40 minutes learning how to program these things and now I can't fly anything without one. The most time it ever took me to program one in the beginning was maybe 5 minutes, and now that I'm familiar with the concepts and impact it has on each of the systems, it takes me a total of 60 seconds longer to prep my flight than it did before, and the rewards are 100 times greater than that. I'm a solo flyer too, never on-line or multi-player, just like you.Just wanted to share my personal experience, as I was missing out on one of the best parts of our hobby for a long time . . .
