Loading of aircraft on startup

Featured Replies

It must be a senior moment because I know I've seen an answer to this but I can't find it.I'd like just some specific aircraft to load whenever I start FS X. I'm not sure how to arrange this. I don't want to erase other aircraft, just not load them until needed.Anyone have the answer?Jack

It won't work as the sim reads all aircraft in the folder, even if they have no panel folder which is the deciding factor about whether you `see` them in the menu. So while you could just rename the panel folder to `XPanel` or something you won't gain a single second on loading time...The ONLY way to do that is to remove the aircraft you don't need at that moment from the simobjects folder to A.N. Other folder OUTSIDE of the main FSX folder structure, and preferably away from the hard drive that FS is installed on. If you create a `Hangar` folder then all you have to do is make a shortcut for it inside the main FSX folder and then drag and drop any/all aircraft you don't currently want frmo the simobjects folder into that folder. Placed there they no longer interfere in any way, shape or form with the FS load.
