New texture problem

Featured Replies

Hello. I made my very own night texture for a Boeing 737-300 but there is a problem, the window lights come on only when I turn on the landing lights. Is there a solution?

There is a solution. It requires you edit the lightmap alpha channel.Areas that are controlled by the panel lights have a black alpha channel.Areas that are controlled by the landing lights have a white alpha channel.Hope this helps,Joe

Thank's for the reply :( . I'll try this. I'll ad the black alpha to the bmp.

uuups now the fuselage is all chrome. I opened the channels section and painted the alpha 1 channel black. saved and converted to bmp with DXTBmp, and there the Alpha Channel preview shows white color. Am I doing something wrong?

Sounds like you painted the alpha for the texture, not the lightmap. If the model was made with GMAX the texture name would end with _T.bmp and the lightmap would end with _L.bmp.Night lighting is controlled by the lightmap.Hope this helps,Joe

That's Exactly what I did :( Sorry my mistake. I fixed the _L.bmp and now the night texture works fine. T hank's N60JBravo. But is there any way to separate the lights so every light effect has it's own switch?preview
