December 6, 200916 yr Hi, guys I'm having trouble making the posky A330-300 to work, I downloaded the zip and it has an auto-installer. I place the directory to the right directory and I downloaded the Base Package. The plane won't show up!!! Please help, I really want to fly the A330-300!Please provide a link to the actual package you downloaded. Then one of us can get it and see if we can spot the problem.Possibly the aircraft package in question does not have a panel folder - if so, the aircraft will not show up on the FSX aircraft selection menu as FSX thinks it is an AI aircraft only.In any case, many of us never allow an auto-installer to install directly to our sim setup. We always direct it to a temporary folder instead. That way we can check it all out first and then, if all is well, move the items manually where they should go.

December 6, 200916 yr Link where I downloaded the plane (Air Canada):http://projectopensky.com/downloads.php?ai...on=northamerica Link where I downloaded the two Base packages: http://projectopensky.com/downloads.php?ai...ion=basepackage I just checked these downloads - they are for use in FS2004 - but "possibly" will work in FSX.The texture download is the one with the auto-installer.Do as I recommended earlier - install it again but direct it to a temporary folder (perhaps on your desktop). When installed you will see the texture folder which is named texture.ACA (that is the Air Canada version - others will have similar names). There is also a file named install.txt which contains the data which must be added to the proper aircraft.cfg file. Without that data correctly installed, the aircraft cannot be displayed.I cannot emphasize enough the idea that the data must be written to the correct aircraft.cfg file. They do work in FS2004 but I did not attempt to port any of them over to FSX.Hope that helps. :(
December 6, 200916 yr Author I'm sorry If I'm wasting your time but I'm still having trouble with the plane. I'm just getting stuff straight here... Just now, I downloaded "House Colour Wingview No VC Version" I see a couple things after I downloaded that. Effects Opensky A330-300noVC GE <- FolderOpensky A330-300noVC PW <-FolderOpensky A330-300noVC Rolls Royce <-Folderavsim.diz Install.txt readme.txt The Air Canada uses Rolls Royce... So do I just put the Air Canada texture in the "Opensky A330-300noVC Rolls Royce" and delete everything else? So It might look something like this? Opensky A330-300noVC Rolls Royce (^Contains: Model.rrNOsat <-Folder Model.rrSAT <- Folder Panel <-FolderSound <-FolderTexture <-FolderA330-300-RR-Trent-772B.air aircraft.cfg) Along with that files, do I put the Air Canada texture? (texture.ACA) Andrew i7 3820 @ 3.6 / P9X79LE / 16GB RAM / GTX 660
December 6, 200916 yr No wonder you are confused - this is one of the most convoluted setups I have ever run across !! :( I now have it working in both FS2004 and FSX but it was a struggle. There are a number of "less than obvious" edits which need to be made to get it all to work.It would save a great deal of time if you would send me a regular e-mail and I can reply with the proper setup attached. My address is opaflightsimaddict at verizon dot netPlease confirm that you wish this to work in FSX or FS2004 and if you want all three variations - Air Canada, Northwest and US Airways.I shall look forward to hearing from you.
December 7, 200916 yr Author I've recently downloaded what you recommended me. The "toma333b". So basically, you just put the "Tom_A330-300" folder in the place where planes should go? I saw this folder though, "lighteffects" where does that go? Andrew i7 3820 @ 3.6 / P9X79LE / 16GB RAM / GTX 660

I saw this folder though, "lighteffects" where does that go?Just copy all of the files with a fx extension in the lighteffects folder and paste them into your FSX/effects folder - per the instructions. You move (copy) the folder named Tom_A330-300 into your \Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes folder after you have made the additions which are detailed in the instructions.Just follow the instructions exactly and it should work just fine.
December 7, 200916 yr Author Thank you very much Opa for your time and help! I hope it works! FINALLY! :( Andrew i7 3820 @ 3.6 / P9X79LE / 16GB RAM / GTX 660
