  1. In my opinion, EZDok, would be a better buy because it gives freedom. The default views just made me want to bash my ahead against the overhead because of how stale it got .I don't own GSX, and I've always wanted a ground service tool, but I've never regretted getting EZDok. If you like to pan around sceneries, planes, or fly with the camera anywhere (i.e. World view), then this is the tool to get. It's the next best thing besides REX in changing the Flight Sim 'feel'. For me, I didn't have much trouble with key bindings as I've set the body movement keys with the WSAD keys (aka gamer keys) which is very convenient. Everything is quite simple and can be turned off globally with one button. Initially I was frustrated because it looked confusing, and refused to look at the documentation, but I'm sure you're more patient than I am. As for EZDok vs. Opus, I can't speak for Opus as I don't own it, but I suggest you look into Opus actually- I'm intrigued with what people says about it but less so since I already have a camera tool that allows me to do exactly what I want.
  2. Thanks for all the contributions! I've learned a lot more and I'll use this as my guide if I am going to overclock, but how much should I expect on an OC? How much FPS will 3.8Ghz (how much more FPS) give or 4-4.3Ghz? I'm a little cautious about the heat as well, last time my older computer just wouldn't turn on (which is why I got a new one ) and I suspect it's because of the heat O.O -- The thermal paste which I think is suppose to be a thick gel-like substance was hard and It was a Q6600 2.4Ghz (stock cooler I think). I'm just very cautious because If I was to overclock, I won't have spare money to buy a new computer :(, my lack of knowledge makes me a little 'hesitant'. Add-ons I use: PMDGs ORBX PNW Edit: My Power Supply is 600W -- is it enough if I was to OC?
  3. My motherboard is an ASUS P9X79LE and the cooler doesn't look as extreme (looks pretty normal- one fan, and a metal piece) as some coolers I've seen... I'm not sure if I'll overclock just yet, but I'll definitely keep you posted if I do. Thanks, always good to know more!
  4. I've done a bit of research but I can't say I know a lot about overclocking but I was wondering how much I can get out of it without sacrificing the life of the CPU. I'm a little nervous even just touching the BIOS because I don't want to mess up my computer, but I was wondering what this rig can do and with a little help pull an overclock. I've never overclocked but so I wouldn't know what is right and what is wrong :S. My rig is the 3820 @ 3.6 , 16GB RAM, GTX 660. I run flight sim at stable 30FPS (15-25FPS in VC) using PMDG747 in ORBX PNW with modest scenery sliders. How much can I expect with an overclock? I don't have an after-market cooler and I'm really not sure what to pick. I'm not planning on OCing right away but I'm just trying to gather as much information . Andrew
  5. I've let the KGCN OZx World Installer install it for me but after I do, the scenery doesn't show. I also go to the Settings>Scenery Library (within FSX) but I can't find the KGCN or a Grand Canyon name entry. Do I have to add it? If so, how? I tried to add it but it won't allow me to open the actual KGCN folder. When I click it, it keeps going in the folders instead of opening it as a whole (I think). -Andrew
  6. I was about to post that I didn't get what you meant KingGhidorah, but I fixed it!! Thank you!
  7. I recently got a new joystick and it works like any other joystick and throttle... But what I don't understand is that the throttle levers doesn't work in DCS A-10C, but works perfectly fine in FSX... When I try and set it in the Options in DCS, it doesn't even recognize I'm moving the throttles (when I am). It recognizes every other button I press but just not the throttles... Help! Thanks, Andrew
  8. H60s, H80s, H100s from Corsairs sounds good, can they work for the 3820? Also, for the Power Supply, It says on the specs (website): 'Antec Gamic Case w/ 600W',I can't seem to find a separate bracket for the power supply so guessing the ps is 600W. Is 600W enough to run this? If not what is the power supply watts I should buy?
  9. That makes sense... I'm not really into heavily populated areas and full sliders anyway. I was wondering if you COULD actually overclock the i7 3820? Again, I don't know much but I've done a little bit of research and they said I could (The Motherboard is a Asus P9X79).... It doesn't state in the specs that It has liquid cooling installed so what is the best, price-performance wise? Will it break if I turn on this so-called 'Turbo Boost' without liquid cooling?
  10. Sounds good! How do you think it'll do if I fraps it? Half size and Full size?
  11. I was planning to get a new pc and I have a very low budget and this is what I have, I really don't know much about computers so I thought it was a good idea to know what you guys' thoughts are on this before I make a decision to buy it or not. i7 3820 @ 3.6Ghz 10MB Cache Asus P9 8GB SDRAM 1333Mhz 1GB Hard Drive <--- Not a big deal ( I can buy a bigger one I guess) Nvidia 560 1G DDR5 What I really want here is a constant 25 and above FPS while I fly PMDGs, Superbugs, and If I have to sacrifice the scenery, it doesn't really matter , all I want is a smooth cockpit experience, anything more is just a bonus! Thanks, Andrew
  12. Alright. Thanks guys for the information and thoughts.
  13. Apparently, It can't... But what are your recommendations on if I was to get a new motherboard what would the ideal one be? Also the cheapest gpu with the biggest bang for the buck but still run FSX?
  14. Hey guys, I really don't know much about computers so I really don't know what to upgrade in my system so I can run FSX with Add-ons in 30+ FPS... Right now I get 10FPS with REX and PMDG 747 in CYVR area but higher frames if I go outside cockpit (25+FPS)Specs:Motherboard: P5B SE (P965)Processor:Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.4GhzRAM: Corsair 2x2GB(800Mhz) + 2x1GB Samsung M3(400Mhz).GPU: GT 220 NVIDIA500W Power SupplyCase: Thermaltake Tsunami DreamIt's been about 4 years so.... The whole thing might be crap but I just can't afford a new computer right now. Any recommendations?Andrew Coz
  15. Hey guys, I've just came across a problem I couldn't find a solution to through google'ing. The problem is that when I click "Day" under "Current Time and Season", It loads then immediately loads to night time... I'm not sure what causes it because it doesn't do it all the time. Extra:I have REX 2.0 which might be affecting it. PMDG MD-11XPMDG 747-400X VRS F-18 Aerosoft F-16and when the REX Engine starts it says "Error HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component." (I'm not sure if thats part of what causes the problem.)
