December 8, 200916 yr I was make some adjustments to the fsx. cfg. I noticed the "display device" section does not list my current gpu. It has my old 8800 gtx, not gtx260. Does anyone know if this is a problem and does to be changed? not worried about performance, this has been a fantastic addition to my system.thanks
December 8, 200916 yr Your best bet is to rename the FSX.cfg file (So you can use it to edit later) Then start FSX and let it build a new one. Setup your FSX settings, then exit and edit the new file adding any tweaks or other modifications you made to your original. Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d

If you just installed the card without first removing the driver the 8800GTX (even if they are the same driver - ref NickN) and then install the driver for the 260 then you may get issues. If you did not want to rebuild your fsx.cfg you could just remove the cfg entries pertaining to the 8800 card providing the 260 is also present in the cfg file. But as the poster above says, its probably easier just to rebuild the cfg file anyway.RegardsPeterH

I ended up rebuilding the cfg, then I made the changes I needed to. Thanks for the replies!

Thanks for the replies! For future reference, you only need to delete the `Display.Device...` section, including the settings for the display (resolution, filtering and anti-aliasing, if included). There is no need to rebuild the whole cfg file. When you reboot the sim, all you have to do is reset the resolution and filtering preferences, check the AA box or not as desired, and you are back in business with all other settings still in place. You should ALSO do this every time you install a new driver for your card, not just a new card itself. UNinstalling the drivers, running driver sweeper or ANY tweak utility will not remove the existing entry, nor will FSX. You always need to do it manually.
