December 12, 200916 yr Yes, flying the Level D 767 KATL EBBR mission while descending, just passing the Belgen coast. I have UT2. I needed to get to bed,so I just watched it unfold. Scary! December 12, 200916 yr Hi,I had a near one on the ground. And the worst part of it is that this happen on VATSIM. It took place at Dubai (OMDB). I announced that I was taking off on runway 12R, lined up and set full thrust. Nearing my rotation speed, I noticed this MD-11 coming in fast from the other end. It was too late for me to liftoff. I noticed he was already nose up and looked like he was dragging the tail on the ground. I held my breath and kept the plane on the runway. He somehow got airborne before he collided with me. That was so close. The gear was like just ten feet above my 737-800. It's partially my fault too. I was too busy looking at the instruments...if I wasn't then maybe I could have slowed down and exited the runway. On his side, he did not announce that he was about to takeoff either. It's a lesson for both of us... takeoff without checking for other traffic.Thank god I didn't rotate too (and jet wake isn't simulated!). We would have had a mid-air collision then!Cheers,Carvelle5000
