December 13, 200916 yr I have a Q6600 PC with 512MB NVidia Geforce 8800GT graphics card. I havent played FSX for some time and notice that i am seeing jaggies especially runways in the middle distance. I am sure it was not like this before! I think there is something wrong. My res is 1280x1024. I went to the nVidia control panel (i have 195.16 drivers installed which is the latest) and in the global settings AA is 4x and AF 8x. I dont think these settings are taking effect here. I increased the AA to 8x and it still looked the same. Setting it to 2x and FSX still looks the same. I dont think these settings are having any effect. I changed the resolution from the same control panel and this worked. Why is my AA not taking effect. I played GTA4 and noticed the same thing. I uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers but get the same result. If i switch AA on in FSX it looks great and there are no jaggies but i dont want to use AA in FSX as its a bigger frame rate killer. Any advice?
December 13, 200916 yr The standard advice would be to use nHancer instead of the nVidia control panel. You can use the settings in this post as your starting point, then adjust as desired: http://www.simforums.com/forums/forum_posts.asp?TID=29041Scroll down about 1/4 of the way, or search the post for "Nvidia Cards and the Tool Nhancer" - this guy writes LONG posts :) Tom Risager NGX tutorial: http://library.avsim.net/sendfile.php?Location=AVSIM&Proto=ftp&DLID=162360 SIDs & STARs Worked Examples: LOWI-UUDD, KSEA-KLAX, EKCH-ENGM, YSCB-YPAD
