December 18, 200916 yr Would this board do me any good? http://www.overclockersclub.com/reviews/as...ikerii_extreme/Want to shred my MSI P45 Diamond board over very weak performance. Been feasting my eyes on the ASUS Striker II Extr. Republic of Gamers edition. Using a C2D E8600 3.33 GHz, and it will easily run 4 gigz, and I won "I´ll rather be down here wishing I was up there than be up there wishing I was down here"
December 18, 200916 yr If you have performance issues it is not the fault of your motherboard unless your motherboard is defective. Your current board may not list support for higher memory speeds, but that's what overclocking is for. As your raise your FSB, your memory clock will scale proportionally.

December 22, 200916 yr I'm not a fan of MSI products either. I generally use Gigabyte boards and have had good luck overall, particularly WRT overclocking. I'm running EP45-UD3L in both my overclocked gaming systems. 4GHz on a Q9550 and just under that on an E8400.

December 22, 200916 yr I've purchased both mine for $99 at Micro Center. $10 manufacturer mail-in-rebate brings that down to $89.
