Audio Environment

Featured Replies

Anyone using Audio Environment from Flight1 Software? I mainly want to improve the AI sounds in FSX and thought I would get this. Merry Christmas to all.RayLondonUK

If thats the one I think it is, it has been criticized for being occasionally silly. That means "funny" one-liners here and there that rather kills the authentic feel. But it may not be the one. Perhaps you should google a review? Or even better: Purchase the add-on and make one for us! :(

I'm a ** for great sounds. I just purchased and tried out the A321 sounds vs. the Wilco Pub sounds for their Vol 1 Airbus series. I must say, they are impressive and pleasing and far surpass Wilco's orginal sounds. The only thing I'm not quite sure about is overall affect on FSX performance. I need to install them for the default AI and recheck for preformance concerns. Other than that, wow, nice! I'll repost later. The install was fast, both for the package and easy for putting into any plane, whether default FSX, AI or any 3rd party. So far no problems in that manner.Randy Jura, KPDX

Update: Without a doubt, TSS's Sounds are superior to anything I've ever heard. I've tested only the A321 sounds on the default FSX A321 and on Vol 1 Wilcopub A320, but they beat both other sound files by a long mile. I even tested them against a set of old, 2006, TSS Airbus sounds I had in my bin, clearly an improvement over their own earlier product. I think my earlier concern about a performance hit was unfounded, well, maybe a smidge affected, but well worth it. I have yet to test the thing on AI traffic of which I use UT2, that will be interesting. My main interest was in-cabin sounds, and so far, superb! Nice spooling up for start-up and responsiveness to throttle. Has that nice Airbus whine.Randy Jura, KPDXAnother update (about an hour later): I installed UT2. Had to un-install AE first as I had attached it to Default FSX AI and you have to back out of it first, then re-install, pointing to the changed AI package. Anyway, got UT2 in and then sat between 34L and 34R at KSEA with full UT2 and was bathed with sound nearly at times nearly 360 degrees. Inside the Cessna, the sounds were appropriately muffled, but outside, it was LOUD wonderful sounds of big jets spooling up to roll down the runway and zoom past me with great directional doppler effects as well! Was able to listen to a 747 land and sure enough, reverse thruster sounds, nice! All in all, I was a bit skeptical of the price of this package at the outset, but I am well pleased. The Flight1 description was correct. I found myself mesmerized for about 20 minutes and just listened to big and little jet sounds.Randy Jura, KPDX
