December 21, 200916 yr hi all, does anyone know what's up with FSX's RWW accuracy? it's been horrible the last few months. especially the wind direction and speed along with barom. press. at both departure & destination airports. the worst i think i've ever seen it this consistently. made a flight from CYVR_RJAA today. according to the Weather Channels current conditions for CYVR while on the ground at CYVR 0800-0900 local time was...Barom. Press.= 29.76, Surface Winds= East @ 5-10 knots with light rain & cloudy skies. FSS RWW at CYVR at the same time was... Barom. Press.= 30.15, Surface Winds= 305-310 degrees at 10-15 knots, cloudy skies, with light rain for about 5-10 mins. then no rain all the way to actual departure. i went back to the WC's site again after reaching initial CRZ Alt. and the current conditions at CYVR 0900-1000 local time was pretty much unchanged. is MS about ready to pull the plug on the fs2k.zone site?happy flyin, fm
December 21, 200916 yr We flew from KDCA yesterday to Atlantic City in that blizzard. It was only fog in DC and clear in Atlantic, something is definatly hosed with it, but we don't have anyone to complain to
December 21, 200916 yr Author hi Jim,i've been considering AS for quite some time. but, from the screen shots i've seen at various forums i don't like AS's clouds. (not knocking your product) to me, they don't look as dense as FS's default clouds. and the sky color at the FL altitudes isn't as dark as FS's based on some of the in-flight pics that i've seen at Airliners.net however, i haven't completely ruled out giving AS a try.happy flyin, fm
December 21, 200916 yr But there are 2 other programs that one could use.I wish I could, AS still has a problem with multiplayer and I wouldn't use the other one if they gave me the company.
December 21, 200916 yr 2 ? in no particular order ... and I only took a quick look ....http://www.fsmeteo.com/http://www.realenvironmentxtreme.com/http://www2.hifisim.com/node/3http://flyawaysimulation.com/article2089.html
December 21, 200916 yr fm,ASA contains no environmental textures, it just uses whatever textures are in FS.Thanks,OK jp, 3.
December 22, 200916 yr Author thanks for the info. Jim. does AS have any kind of impact on FPS? is FSUIPC required? btw, talking FSX here.thanks in advance for the info.happy flyin, fm
December 22, 200916 yr Hi,Heavy weather and multiple cloud layers can have some FPS hit, but that is with any program. There are adjustments for those in AS. We use SimConnect both for a single computer install and networked installs.
December 23, 200916 yr Author hi Jim,thanks again for the info. couple of more questions...1. what's the newest version of AS for FSX?2. is it available on CD/DVD or download only?i may very well give AS a try. gettin' kinda sick of FSX's in-accurate RWW again, thanks for the info..happy flyin, fm
