December 23, 200916 yr Howdy all:I'm brand-new to FSX, having recently hung up my wings flying combat flight sims after many years. I have a new rig (Win7/64) with DX11 installed. I'm currently testing all kinds of tweaks with FSX, but have noticed that changing the in-game "DX10 Preview" to "on" seemed to fix some stutter & frame-rate problems I was having. My question is this: Is running DX11, either with "DX10 Preview" on or off, going to cause problems? (I did note that on one occasion using these settings my video went to black and I had to back out of the game & re-load it. But, it hasn't recurred. I was guessing that perhaps that was caused by running DX11.)
December 23, 200916 yr Your not running in DX11 when DX10 preview is not enabled. You are running in DX9 mode. DirectX is backwards comptiable. FSX will never run in DX11 mode. It will run in DX10 Preview or DX9 only.
