December 24, 200916 yr Hi there,I have recently brought a new hard drive and i have reformatted my system. However i noticed that my FSX starts to crash very often now. When in the past it never crashed at all. I'm using the same addons, using the same OS, using the same hardware(except for HD)..and i don't know where the problem is..I always play in windowed mode, since i know full screen crash more often. This generally happens when i try to open a menu(EX: right click to change view spots, go to options on my menu bar to start/close time acceleration etc...)I'm using windows XP SP3. and this have never happened to me before. So i don't think it have anything to do with addons. does anybody know where the problem might be? December 24, 200916 yr If antivirus is on during install stuff like that could probably ensue. Outdated GPU driver or new driver is cr*p.Did you fiddle with BIOS?OR something is getting hot, dust will settle very deep and invisibly in the heatsinks where they block cool air from fan. And that goes for the elements in your gpu-board as well.My 2 cents. Good luck! "I´ll rather be down here wishing I was up there than be up there wishing I was down here"
December 24, 200916 yr Download and install this .dll if you don,t already have it....Just put it in your main(root) FSX folder...Might fix it...Worked for me..D/L it here:UIAutomationcore.dll C172P N97674 PPL SEL Complex High Performance
December 24, 200916 yr Since you use a prebuilt computer you might have an inadequate power supply. What PSU do you have?
December 24, 200916 yr Author Thanks for all the quick reply!@Jim, video driver is the newest nvidia driver, which is 195.62@crewecut. I had ESET antivirus, but i had it for a long time, and i never had any problem with it...Didn't do anything to BIOS, temperatures are all in the 40s. The system is perfectly cool.@BMG. I thought that thing is only for 64 bit vista and windows 7..? but i'll give it a try anyway(never have to use anything like that before), ty@Ulfb. I upgraded my PSU long time ago because of the graphic card upgrade. I have a 650W Ocz PSU and it's more than enough to handle what i have. And i do not experience any problems with other games.
