Merry xmas and a happy new year to all.I purchased the MD11 (FSX) last march, as time was at a prmuim I never got it in the air. fast forward to now and I'm having another go, the most time consuming part is finding out how to open the various panels, but I'm getting there. After a couple of false starts I thought I was getting somewhefer. Just about to start the engines (tutorial 1) and thought it would be a good idea to save the pnel state - it wouldnt let me!! said it couldnt create the file. So I carried on, got lost airside at heathrow and went round in a circle to find runway 27L, anyhow i got there in the hend, held short and finished off setting everything up, went to line up fotr tkeoff, got too much throttle and the autothrottle set in, haha, end of flight. So about an hour and 30 after starting I called it a day, but before I packed up I investigated why I could not save the panel state. Turned out to be good old Windoze Vista, set FSX to run as an administrator and saved ok.I'll have another go at the MD11 tomorrow night, meanwhile I'm goin to take my frusteration out on the Realair Spitfire.Watch this space for more fun on my antics ith the MD11.Les Ashton.

Fired up FSX again tonight, all set up with the tutorial, found runway 27L with only a small hiccup, got the bird in the air but then lost some of the instruments. At least now I realise I can save panel state, flight etc with the fsx save facility. Geting the spitfire out for a bit now, at least I made some progress with the MD11.By the way woul the J41 be any easier to learn to fly?Les Ashton
