December 30, 200916 yr Commercial Member I feel a little stupid asking this because I'm pretty sure I should know the answer. When starting a jet engine, which FS default electrical circuits should be active beforetrigger_key_event(KEY_TOGGLE_FUEL_VALVE_ENG1,0);trigger_key_event(KEY_TOGGLE_STARTER1,0);have any effect? (I'm aware of the fubar between FS9 and FSX on the starter switches). I did have this working and thought it was the main battery bus but even though querying the battery bus, the fuel valve and the engine starter state all return 1, the engine refuses to light off.-Dai
December 31, 200916 yr Moderator If you have a CH Yoke or Throttle Quad, make sure that the mixture control is fully forward, as the axis setting will keep the fuel value(s) firmly closed......I've lost track of the number of times this has bit me on the butt! :( Fr. December 31, 200916 yr Author Commercial Member Unfortunately that's not it, Bill. I've almost completed writing a 'debugger' that will allow me to view all FS variables and up to 60 user-defined variables in real time. (Yes, I suppose I could have used the 'Watch' facility in the VS debugger but I couldn't stand the thought of having to keep entering the variables I wanted to follow each time I restarted VS). Hopefully this will allow me to track down the FS one that's causing the grief.-Dai
January 2, 201016 yr Author Commercial Member Okay - I found the problem. DON'T try and start the engines when FS is Paused..... My excuse is that screen was so obscured with open panels that I missed the big flashing red message... :( :( -Dai
