January 2, 201016 yr I just bought a nividia gtx 260 video card. I tried to install int but not sure if my computer will handle it. I have a gateway dx4200-09 amd quad core.It seems that your Gateway comes with a 300W PSU, which isn't enough. NVIDIA specs say that the GTX260 card will use up to 182W.What happened when you tried to install it?I looked for another power supply but could only find one.Where did you look for another PSU? There are plenty of PSUs on the market. You should look for a PSU capable of delivering up to 650-750W.
January 2, 201016 yr I'd guess you were looking for a "Gateway power supply" and that is why you were unable to find one. Standard PSUs will work in just about any recent OEM system, unless there is a size constraint.
January 3, 201016 yr Author thanks for the help I upgraded my power supply and it works great. Anthony Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-9700K CPU @ 3.60GHz 3.60 GHZ, 32 GB ram, win 11, gtx 4070 Super
