Any point in upgrading the components for this mobo

Featured Replies

I now have for FS a AM2+ MSI mobo with these componentsAMD X2 6000+4 Gb PC6400 NVIDIA 8800GT 512M DDR3Win 7 Prem Home 64 bits OEMI suppose 4 Gb RAM is enough and then there is the option to upgrade the CPU to Phenom II X4 and the videocard to something more powerful.Question is would this improve performence in FSX (FS9) in any significant way?

If your board supports the quad core Phenom II's with 125-140W TDP (check with the board manufacturer for CPU support) it would be worth the upgrade.

Since I got a AM2+ mobo I think it supportsAMD PHENOM II X4 940 3.0GHZ 2MB SOCKET AM2+ BOXquestion then would another videocard be able to improve things even further?

Another video card as in a 2nd? Or do you mean replacing your current card? Unless you run some pretty extreme graphical settings you really shouldn't need more than an 8800 GT for performance or quality. The only reason for a 2nd card is to add monitors as it does nothing for performance for MSFS.
