January 19, 201016 yr Commercial Member I had reason to start looking at these today and very quickly discovered that There's Something Not Quite Right. If I dump an aircraft at Gander International TIME ZONE OFFSET gives me three hours instead of 3.5. Okay, so maybe FS doesn't like the tiny Atlantic timezone, but... if you load a plane in Madras (or anywhere in India) FS gives you 5 hours the other way instead of 5.5. Indian Standard Time is a big timezone to be ignored! So, can anyone tell me if FS takes a very simplistic view to timezones in that one timezone=fifteen degrees and hang all the zigging and zagging that the real timezones do?-Dai
January 20, 201016 yr Commercial Member Oh... it's worse than you could possibly imagine.FS and timezones just don't work, period. They're grossly inaccurate... and you can end up with completely and totally wrong local time just by jumping from one airport to another one on the other side of the world! January 20, 201016 yr Author Commercial Member Hi EdWhy does that not really surprise me :( . Actually, I also forgot to add that Gander gives +3.0 hours and Madras gives -5.0 hours. Perhaps I'm standing on my head? :( Somewhere on the forum I did find the foobar about crossing the dateline - instant daylight!-Dai
