error: not enough memory

Featured Replies

I just installed Tileproxy for FSX in Windows 7. I previously ran this in WinXP with 2GB memory with no issues. Now I'm using Windows 7 (32 bit) with 4GB memory installed (3.25 usable) and after flying for about 30 minutes I get an error in TileProxy which causes the program to close down.TileAPI: not enough memory for final alpha mask!TileAPI: Missing alpha data before final renderingPrior to this happening I can see (in windows task manager) my available physical memory slowly decrease to it finally reaches "0" then the error occurs :( Any idea why this could be happening and what I can tweak to fix this? Thanks,Damage 257th

No idea why, but you can experiment with cache limitations, or max texture limitations. I still find it strange though, as you should have more memory, unless the page file is smaller.

The longer I fly using TileProxy, the greater my memory usage. I have 6GB and it will take about 45 minutes or up to 2hrs for this to be used. I think it is because FSX and tileproxy hold textures in cache and it eventually gets used. The higher res you fly at, the more detailed the textures, and ergo the quicker you will run out of memory. I have both my cache settings set to unlimited. If you set it smaller it may mean it caps the amount held in memeory when it reaches the level you have set. I guess something else to try......Cheers, Mark
