how do you tell which "topic" you last read ?

Featured Replies

Is there an easy way to tell which "topic" has been read on this forum? I forget where I left off if I read this forum every few days jerrycwo4

Jerry, if there's a little orange "icon" just to the left of the thread title, it indicates that there are unread replies. Click on the orange "icon" to be taken immediately to the first unread reply... :)

jerryuscg,There are a lot of features to the AvSim forum. You have to click around. You can click 'My Control Panel'. Some stuff there. You can also do a search of any topic (word) or author (username) of post. In forum page, if you scroll down to very bottom you have a link called 'Lo-Fi version'. Go look at that feature. We all wonder where in the heck we left off after being gone for a few days. I suggest you make and save a notepad txt file with the subject, date, time, and a snippet like 'Get back to this one', etc for picking up where you left off. Lots of possibilities. If, for example, you want to go read any replys you missed after your reply on a post, just go 'Lo-Fi version' and do a search. For example: 'nominate Opa'. It will be there. Or enter your username: 'jerryuscg' and your info will pop up. (See pics for 'sample' info. (TIP: IF YOU CAN'T READ TEXT, hold down Ctrl key, then move mouse wheel to 'zoom in'.)If you click the 'down arrow' to right of your avatar it will offer some other features. Like view all posts (pertaining to you), etc.On a daily basis, if you read a post the symbol on left will be grayed out. If you posted a new topic, there will be a white 'footnote' on lower right corner (go 'Next Page', etc to find your past posts). The AvSim system is just such a marvel, with so much info, it boggles the mind. So that are several ways to spend your whole day looking, and still not cover it all.CBNapamule
