January 28, 201016 yr Yes, I know, thou shalt not sim in a laptop, but because I'm travelling a lot, I got sick and tired of my Inspiron 1420... 2.5 Kg is too heavy for me, even if I'm satisfied with its performance in FS9 (so satisfied that it was my primary FS rig). I decided to upgrade the desktop I have already and switch my laptop for a smaller, more traveller-friendly one... but still with enough horsepower for FS9 (FSX is out of question). I've seen these options so far:Dell Inspiron 11z ($619, but i can get it in Dell Colombia for COP 1'500.000)Intel Pentium 4 SU4100 1.3 GHz (dual core)4 GB RAMIntel GS 45 chipset... that means GMA 4500MHD graphics250GB HDDWindows 7 Home Premium 64-bitAcer Ferrari One ($600, imported)http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16834115685AMD Athlon 64X2 L310 1.2 GHz4 GB RAMATI Radeon HD3200 graphics250GB HDDWindows 7 Home Premium 64-bitASUS Eee PC 1201N-PU17-BK ($490, imported)http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16834220659Intel Atom N330 1.6 GHz (dual core)2 GB RAMNvidia Ion graphics250GB HDDWindows 7 Home Premium 32-bitTOSHIBA Satellite T115D-S1125 ($500, imported)http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16834114801AMD Athlon Neo X2 L325 1.5 GHz2 GB RAMATI Radeon HD3200 graphics320GB HDDWindows 7 Home Premium 64-bitAcer Aspire Timeline AS1810TZ-4008 ($550, imported)http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16834115721Intel Pentium 4 SU4100 1.3 GHz (dual core)3 GB RAMIntel GMA 4500MHD graphics320GB HDDWindows 7 Home Premium 64-bitLooks like the worst CPU is paired with the best GPU and vice versa... I'm confused :( . I usually fly complex airliners (PMDG, Wilco, PSS, Digital Aviation), I don't know if this has an effect in the choice. Which laptop do you think should I buy?Best regards from Colombia,Luis Miguel Best regards,Luis Hernández Main rig: self built, AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D (with SMT off and CO -50 mV), 2x16 GB DDR4-3200 RAM, Nvidia RTX 5060Ti 16GB, 256 GB M.2 SSD (OS+apps) + 2x1 TB SATA III SSD (sims) + 1 TB 7200 rpm HDD (storage), ID-Cooling SE-224-XTS air cooler, Viewsonic VX2458-MHD 1920x1080@120-144 Hz (G-sync compatible), Windows 11. January 28, 201016 yr Those are all basically netbooks. You may be able to run FS9 on the integrated graphics that come with these laptops, but it will be at extremely low settings.
