Moving back to XP64 from Win 764 bit......

Recommended Posts

Hi GuysJust thought I would share my findings with you.... I recently installed Win 7 64 bit with both FS9/FSX and to be honest have had all sorts of issues. I have an ATI 5850 and am unable to run V Sync in FSX as are all ATI users (vista/win7) so have to live with wiggly pictures when panning with Track IR, I also have problems with FSX minimizing to desktop and then trying to return to the game.... there seems to be a lot of issues with in game graphics and the administrator stuff is rediculous when installing.....My 2 centsHamish

Just turn UAC off. Sorry to hear about ATI vsync problem. Did you try either ATITool or RivaTuner?

It's interesting people having SO much troubles with addons and FS and Win7x64. I have never had any. Ever.My secret (I think): deactivate UAC, log in as "Administrator", not your login name. And you are good.

The trouble is mainly with FSX not so much FS9......Yes the Ati Tray tools workaround unfortunately does not work.....H.

I've stayed with my dual boot mainly using XP/64 because I cannot overcome microstutters or "loaping" in W7/64. You invest in what works.

Mmm, I didn't notice you have an ATI. I hear repeated problems with ATI, Win7 and FSX, I admit. I too have FSX and did some heavies and also had no problems, alas low FPS on my C2D (still). i7 is on the way...
